Historia
Since 1929, Hollywood’s brightest stars have flocked to the Chateau Marmont as if it were a second home. An apartment building-turned-hotel, the Chateau has been the backdrop for generations of gossip and folklore: where director Nicholas Ray slept with his 16-year-old Rebel Without a Cause star Natalie Wood; Jim Morrison swung from the balconies; John Belushi suffered a fatal overdose; and Lindsay Lohan got the boot after racking up nearly $50,000 in charges in less than two months. Much of what has happened inside the Chateau’s walls has eluded the public eye - until now.

So that’s what it was
Revisado: 06-06-24
Being from LA and going to West Hollywood or down the strip with visiting relatives, I’d see the Marmont and knew it had some Hollywood pedigree, but didn’t know if it was a hotel or apartment building. Fascinating to hear its complete history and is definitely one of the oldest buildings in that area. The author definitely got into the nitty-gritty and sometimes had to backtrack to get all the names but was captivated by what I was learning. Hopefully, the Marmont will continue to live on and the wrecking balls of LA will stay away from it!

Historia
The first time I met Winter Marks, I almost took her out with my Jeep. To be fair, she came out of nowhere. I flirted with her, and she flipped me off and disappeared into the woods on her bike. But she left me a souvenir: a single hockey skate. Seemed to me that divine intervention shouldn’t be ignored. She was my icy Cinderella, and I would be her Prince Not-So-Charming. Winter was more than just a sassy, badass hockey-playing hottie. She’s stuck in a prison of a life. And I’m the perfect escape. Neither of us expected to fall. Or for the truth to shatter us.

Good but enjoyed the Pucked Series more
Revisado: 11-14-23
It was good but enjoyed the original Pucked series more. There seemed to be more humor, and the angst was different plus I think the writing was spot on. However, while there is always a lot of sex, which kind of gets boring, the “kids of the Pucked series” as this one is, doesn’t have the same rhythm. In the “kids” books, the angst is super angsty and is not as sharp as they all seem to follow the same pattern. I miss the antics of Violet and Alex, the drama of Lance and Poppy and the craziness of how Randy and Lily got together and their drama with his Dad. Having said that, BJ’s accident was compelling.
Just seems with the newest books, Ms. Hunting is following a template. Don’t get me wrong, I have all of her books, and enjoy them. But couldn’t one of the kids be more fun and humorous while falling in love?
Also, where’s the sequel to The Good Luck Charm. The main character’s sister, Carmen, sounds like she could be a lot of fun getting the doctor. Or the doctor getting Carmen.

Historia
When a remote Peruvian village is reduced to ash in seconds, the Shepherds face a horrific question: Is this the work of a man-made weapon of unthinkable power, or is God raining down judgment from above, as some believe? As the recently installed leader of the Joshua Bravo team, Jedidiah Johnson shifts into covert operation mode to follow rumors of a new energy-based weapon able to incinerate a target―even a human target―with no warning. With the assistance of the CIA, Jed’s team deploys to Hong Kong to extract the Chinese scientist who helped develop the weapon.

Incredible
Revisado: 08-12-23
All of these books have been compelling and according to my NFO son in Naval flight accurate from the standpoint of military jargon and action. I’ve really enjoyed reading them and know that God intervenes for us. However, in the final fight, it was frustrating to not have the believers rebuke the demons with the name of Jesus. That’s what the Bible teaches. His name is power and evil spirits cannot stand when His name is used. They tried to rebuke on their own and fight until Sara Beth remembers God. I just got frustrated about that. But overall, incredible book.

Couldn’t stop listening
Revisado: 08-04-23
I’m so glad the authors have brought attention to the spiritual warfare that is going on. It’s right on the money for the times we’re living in, especially. Think Jed is a good character and hope he finds his faith. Loved how much they stressed spending time with the Bible because that’s how you put on the armor of God. At first, I didn’t know when I started the series if Jesus would use such a militaristic force but looking back in history, ancient Israel had a fighting force under God’s direction when they were faithful. I’m hoping Ben stays a character and the authors don’t see him as expendable. He is the anchor and Jed has a lot to learn.

Enjoyed listening
Revisado: 07-31-23
I thought Kristi did well with the characters especially since the stories were shorter. It was fun finding out how things started with those characters after listening to all the books in the series. I had to go to Apple Books get the first audio book about Amelia, “A Lady of Esteem.”

Love the book but not narration.
Revisado: 07-27-23
The book is lovely and fun listening to the ups and downs of a unplanned marriage in the early 19th century. I don’t want to be mean….but, in my opinion, I don’t enjoy listening to Ms. Dore. The female voices are ok while her ready is choppy. The male characters are supposed to be 24 and 27 years old and sound as if they’re 91. I really enjoyed listening to “A Noble Masquerade”, the first book in the series, narrated by Kristi Ann Hunter. She really put life in the characters as well as a nice lily to the voices which told you more about who the characters are. Trent is more of a jovial young man and is not portrayed as such in this book.

Christmas nice
Revisado: 12-16-21
If you’re trying to get into the Christmas spirit, this a beautiful book to get you started especially if you’re a wanting a Christmas love story. A little on the Hallmark side, except for a couple of explicit scenes (but not as explicit as some books, which is nice), but there’s nothing wrong with that!
