Historia
Emily had hoped for some peace in the wake of the war. A chance to sit down, relax, and come to terms with everything that happened over the last year. But it was not to be. The post-war world is in chaos, with mundane revolutionary factions clashing with magical supremacists, kings fighting to maintain what remains of their power, magitech changing the world, and shadowy forces preparing themselves to take advantage of the coming conflict… all unaware of a growing threat rising from the long-forgotten past.

Surprisingly Good
Revisado: 04-29-24
Surprisingly good, considering all the bad reviews, or perhaps, because they lowered my expectations. Honestly, unsure. Prepare to be irritated by the lack of answers, at the end, but it's just a setup for story continuation, I guess. Though, it's a bit excessive to me. Definitely not the worst book in the series.

Did not like it. Was a struggle to finish it. Sorry fans. Guess it just wasn't my cup of tea.

Historia
A masterful, intensely suspenseful novel about a reader whose obsession with a reclusive writer goes far too far - a book about the power of storytelling, starring the same trio of unlikely and winning heroes King introduced in Mr. Mercedes. "Wake up, genius." So begins King's instantly riveting story about a vengeful reader. The genius is John Rothstein, an iconic author who created a famous character, Jimmy Gold, but who hasn't published a book for decades.

Hard to track
Revisado: 11-05-19
Hard to follow at first. Jumps around between characters & timelines. The Hodges Trio don't come into the story until maybe 3/4 in but in the end it all comes together. Good read (listen) over all but a bit of a struggle in the beginning.

Dang!.....They were right about the narrator.
Revisado: 11-03-17
Why they changed narrators after the first book, I may never understand but what a horrible mistake. If you can drudge through his droning, it's a nice story and worth it in the end.

Historia
A mysterious island. An abandoned orphanage. A strange collection of very curious photographs. As our story opens, a horrific family tragedy sets 16-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the ruins of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. And somehow—impossible though it seems—they may still be alive.

Pleased
Revisado: 10-25-17
I was quite leary of trying this series due to the bad reviews I had read about the narrator but am pleased that I took the chance. He did a good enough job. I've returned books here just because I couldnt stand the voice of the narrator. I liked this 1st book a lot. I saw the movie at the theaters & it was good but felt rushed. The book seems to have a nice rhythm of event progression. Look forward to starting the 2nd book in just a few minutes.

Historia
Always on the go and racing toward the next challenge, Meredith Montgomery is the kind of woman who has it all - or at least that's what she wants everyone to believe. But when a serendipitous twist of fate at a quaint B&B brings her face-to-face with Elliott Fraser, a wealthy and respected Scotsman, Meredith might just slow down for the first time in her life.

Disappointed
Revisado: 07-19-16
Wasn't as good as the first book. Seemed to focus more on "steaminess" than actual story and there was no time travel.
