years of abuse

I was really looking forward to comprehending Gypsy's timeline of abuse that led to the murder of her mother. Within this book, I did see her mostly as a victim of MBP. However, I found shifts of blame to addiction and the man who carried out the murder when she DID indeed ask him to do that. While I agree that MANY people failed her-doctors, schools, and CPS, etc-I felt she could have done more to stop the murder itself. I fully understand a victim not speaking up to others while their abuser is present. That being said, what would've happened if he mother hadn't been killed? Would it have gone on forever? The ruse was bound to end at some point with Gypsy aging and, for good reason, rebelling. For Dee Dee, there would eventually be no way out of her created story . I feel Dee Dee could've been forced to take Gypsy's life to cover her own story. (This in no way excuses murder! ) In the end, I feel Gypsy does know right from wrong and has it in her the ability to be kind. She has the parents she deserved to always have! I pray for a happy ending for her and will continue to follow her story.

Marrying Beckett Coleman is the best idea I've had in years. I can grant my sick dad’s wish to walk one of his daughters down the aisle, and Beckett has my help solving a custody situation with his daughter. Our plan is to spend a year together, then part ways. Easy, especially since I'm not his type, and he's not mine either. He’s too quiet and too serious. And while he’s distractingly gorgeous, he’s also my brother’s teammate. Beckett is fake husband material, not the real deal. I just have to remember that.

Sweet good storyline

Not too heavy on the smut, it was a sweet storyline that you could easily relate to and feel like you really loved the characters. I really enjoyed this book, and the narrators were REALLY good. They made the story! I'll be checking into the author's other books!
