This is a really good book series, well written. The only down side is that the plot is very redundant and repetitive. The characters make the same bad choices and mistakes repeatedly. If you read the first book there is really no need to read the second book. It is basically the exact same plot and character journey in the exact same sequence. Just exchange the King/father for Queen/mother just she has magic where the father did not. The people with magic are still weak and still less powerful than the royals, they still are victims. They still have the exact same fatal flaw/allergy. There is nothing new in this book. Although the book is very well written it is almost a Xerox copy of the first with a few tweaks as a form of literary lip service to a sequel. I hope the third book actually has more imagination in terms of plot progression and new and different developments. I really want to love this series but I would like the books to have distinctions that make each an individual instead of identical twins.

Yeah, this is a skin crawling no. Grieving “widow” prayed upon by billionaire creeper. It is supposed to be hot but comes across as seriously problematic.

Good characters and nice arc for HEA.

My only criticism is that the last chapter makes it abundantly clear that the author does not understand science and has never been to Florida. Google and research was not done. 1) Homes in Miami do not have basements or fallout shelters, not unless the person is super rich and had it specifically made to order; 2) Hurricanes do not magically transform into tornadoes and travel at the speed of light in order to arrive a week before scheduled land fall (a hurricane can spawn tornadoes, but does not become one itself; 3) tornadoes are not large enough to engulf 1/2 a state; 4) there is no way that you can take a private jet and fly into super storm territory and land safely 25 minutes away from the eye of the storm. You would think that the author or editor would have researched to see if the last “twist” before the HEA, is even possible. Otherwise, I enjoyed the book.

Narrator spoils an otherwise good book

The narrator, Rob Saladino, impression of a female voice has the effect of nails on a chalk board. His attempt sounds like an SNL sketch of the Church Lady. Not an enjoyable auditor experience. The book was ill served by his efforts. It was hard to complete the audible book because of the narration.
Otherwise, the story was good.
