I liked the story line but felt the narration completely ruined it. I ended up skipping through most of the book just to get to the end.

LOVED IT!!!

I REALLY enjoyed this book. The characters were so easy to fall in love with. I thoroughly enjoyed the way it was narrated. It was as if you were listening in on the whole conversation. I wasn't ready for it to end. Kal and Vera's story can't possibly stop here. Plus, there was that little tease of what her brother was going through.

It was definitely light and different from my normal listens but I am really glad I have it a chance.

Emotional growth

I was hesitant to pick up this audiobook after reading some of The reviews. However, I fell in love with both main characters. The tragic history of the male main made his jerkiness more understandable. When all was revealed it made me want to cry for the emotional abuse young Celian must have endured.

Though there were times Jude was a doormat, she was still a strong woman who attempted to stick to her moral compass. Though her upbringing was not up to par, she always handled herself with class.

Excellent story and very nice narration.

Loved it!

I enjoyed this book so much more than the first one that I had to listen to it a second time. My favorite part of the whole book has to be when Lincoln named his pet. It nearly caused me to wreck my truck. While I admire Ember for fighting her feelings, putting her son first, and not immediately jumping into bed with Baker, I felt she drug it out too much. While I am not a revengeful person, I thought the douchebag (I can't remember his name) ex-husband should have at least been punched in the face. Baker should have definitely let Ember get one good hit in before he grabbed her.

I recently found this author as I try to listen to all the Escape titles I can before they take away my drug of choice and I must say, I love her style. I hope in the future Audible adds her titles to the plus catalog.

A little far fetched

I was excited to see that this was a second chance romance and within my age range. However, the main characters played way too many childish games with each other. Letti was more of a 20 something rather than a 40 year old. While Giant character is suppose to be a vet. There were several inconsistancies in his character for being former military. For example, as soon as they made camp he would have checked her injuries and blisters not a few days into their adventure.
Overall, the story line was good and kept my attention. The male narrartor was awesome and made me feel Giants character. I hope to hear more from him in the future.

I have never laughed so hard with a romance novel before. This book will be on my listen to again list.

Dragging on

I needed up skipping the last fifteen chapters of the book. It just seem to drag on too long. The female narrator sounded like a teenager and the male at times sounded as if a computer program was translating the words. I had added the second book to my library but won’t be listening to it.

Enjoyable

This story was very enjoyable and flowed nicely. The narrator was okay but I felt she sounded a little too whiny at times for a forty year old.

Cocky rebellion

The story was good and enjoyable. However it also gave me the impression that this was the authors attempt to get on the ‘cocky ‘ rebellion of 2018 due to the length. I may change this review once I have listened to a few more of the authors books.

Loved it!

I am on a mission through audible escape and have been disappointed a lot in my last few listens. However, I absolutely loved this story and couldn’t put it down. There was a back story to each character but not too much emphasis was placed on them.

The author did an excellent job of character development and had me connecting with both. The narrators were awesome as well. I actually tend to search out the readers more than the authors because of what they bring to the story.

Overall, very pleased with this listen.
