Historia
A covert group is infiltrating the world’s most secure bio-weapons research sites. All across the country, people are acting as human ‘disease bombs’ by infecting themselves and walking into public places. And heavily armed groups of illegal private soldiers are massing for some unknown strike. Joe Ledger and the members of Rogue Team International, still reeling from the devastation and heartbreaking losses of their last mission, are forced into relentless action to try and save the country, if not the entire world.

Revisado: 04-25-25
Overall I like Joe Ledger. This book got boring, and I gave up on it with about an hour to go. I just could not get into this book at all. One of the worst of both Joe Ledger and Rogue Team International.

I love this series so I loved this book. It was probably the 2nd worst book of the series, but that still makes it better then many books out there from other authors.

For some it’s an opportunity. For others it’s a moment to question their faith: In God, in science, in everything. Still others try to keep the world running in the face of absurdity and uncertainty. And then there are the billions looking to the sky and wondering how a thing that was always just there is now... something absolutely impossible.

Very disappointing. Should be a short story
Revisado: 04-25-25
I usually love Scalzi. But this book was not good. He had enough material to make a really good short story. But he stretched it out and it was a very disappointing book. Not funny at all, and usually Scalzi's stuff is fairly funny. There just wasn't enough material to make a full book out of it. So most of the book is filler.
.
Wil Wheaton does a great job as usual. But he just didn't have anything to work with.

Historia
The wall just didn’t look right. Alex has been trying to cope. Life after his deployment had been rough. His ex-wife thought he needed to stop disappointing their daughter. She was right. He would try harder. With six hours before his little girl’s fourth birthday party, he saw the anomaly. One wall was too short. Plenty of time to tear out a panel and look behind it. He found a brick wall. His house wasn’t made of brick. Behind that was another just like the first. He still had time. When the second wall came down, Alex stood and stared at the shining doorway.

Solid book
Revisado: 03-10-25
As I am a huge fan of The Middle Falls Time Travel series, I figured I would give this one a shot. I, mistakenly, thought it was a new series. Overall, the book was solid. There are a couple holes, but nothing glaring. Maybe he addresses them later. Also, I had hoped that, like Middle Falls, it would be a different place each book. Like the door had a way to be changed so the time you came out of when going through it was different each time. But when I found there were already several books out in this series, I also found out that he didn't go that way with the door.
Overall, very much worth the listen.
The Narrator was ok, but he didn't help the book. The best narrators will lift a book. They can make a bad book good, a good book great, and a great book just over the top amazing (see Project Hail Mary). This narrator was not bad, but that is the best you could say about him.

It's America in 1962. Slavery is legal once again. The few Jews who still survive hide under assumed names. In San Francisco, the I Ching is as common as the Yellow Pages. All because some twenty years earlier the United States lost a war - and is now occupied by Nazi Germany and Japan.

Horrible. Just dreadful.
Revisado: 03-04-25
I have been heavy into audiobooks since around 2014. I average at least 50 books a year. This is the first book I have listened to where the tv show was better then the book.
This book was dreadful. I should have given up with around 6 hours to go, but I lasted until around an hour and a half to left before I couldn't take it anymore.
Other then the overall story of Germany and Japan winning the war, there is nothing to this book. There is no storyline. There are no main characters. I call it the Seinfeld of books. A book about nothing. It is just people doing everyday things with nothing connecting them in any way. A guy buys art, or a reproduction of a gun. Then someone else buys something else.
Stay away from this book.

It is an OK book
Revisado: 02-26-25
I was very disappointed in this book as it is the first one of Nelson DeMille's that I didn't absolutely love 5 stars.
My issue is I don't at all care about the Vietnam War, and I don't care about Vietnam as a country. This story is the 2nd in the Brenner series, which is why I bought it. But it is all Vietnam all the time. I just got very bored with it.
Honesty, if he didn't have an excellent narrator like Scott Brick, I would have given up on the book by the mid point.

Communion is the iconic classic in which Whitley Strieber describes his 1985 close encounter experiences. This book, which fundamentally changed the way we understand close encounters and alien abductions, is presented here with a new introduction by the author. Do not miss this great classic and the powerful introduction that explores the situation as it stands today—even more provocative and important now, as official sources are admitting that UFOs are real unknowns and that they seem to have something to do with close encounters.

Not as good the 2nd time around
Revisado: 01-23-25
I read this book when it first came out back in the 1980's. It was amazing. This listen of it was disappointing. I will say that the narrator had a huge impact on that. The trouble is, there really isn't anything wrong with him other then a monotone read which wants to put you to sleep. If you listen to a lot of books each year, you will probably not like him. If you rarely listen to audiobooks, you won't have an issue with him.

Thirty-five years ago, Mario Puzo's great American tale, The Godfather, was published, and popular culture was indelibly changed. Now, in The Godfather Returns, acclaimed novelist Mark Winegardner continues the story, the years not covered in Puzo's best-selling book or in Francis Ford Coppola's classic films.

The Family Corleone and this book are excellent extensions of the Godfather saga. It is a shame Puzo didn't want to write them. Thankfully, Mark Winegardner took up the challenge and wrote a great book.

Historia
With its brilliant and brutal portrayal of the Corleone family, The Godfather burned its way into our national consciousness. This unforgettable saga of crime and corruption, passion and loyalty continues to stand the test of time, as the definitive novel of the Mafia underworld. A #1 New York Times bestseller in 1969, Mario Puzo's epic was turned into the incomparable film of the same name, directed by Francis Ford Coppola, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture. It is the original classic that has been often imitated, but never matched.
