Historia
The Shadow of the Torturer is the first volume in the four-volume epic, the tale of a young Severian, an apprentice to the Guild of Torturers on the world called Urth, exiled for committing the ultimate sin of his profession - showing mercy towards his victim.
Gene Wolfe's "The Book of the New Sun" is one of speculative fiction's most-honored series. In a 1998 poll, Locus Magazine rated the series behind only "The Lord of the Rings" and The Hobbit as the greatest fantasy work of all time.

Historia
Return to the Whorl is the third volume of Gene Wolfe's ambitious trilogy The Book of the Short Sun. It is again narrated by Horn, who has embarked on a quest in search of the heroic leader Patera Silk. He has traveled from his home on the planet Blue, reached the mysterious planet Green, and visited the great starship, the Whorl, and even, somehow, the distant planet Urth. But Horn's identity has become ambiguous, a complex question embedded in the story, whose telling is itself complex, shifting from place to place, present to past. Perhaps Horn and Silk are now one being.

A fantastic ending
Revisado: 05-25-24
The short sun books increased in excellence as they went along. This final book is a great end app to not only that series but the long sun books as well. I loved the action and adventure but especially the deep philosophical and theological themes and exploration.
The performance was great as well. Clearly read with distinct characters and voices without overacting.

An engaging story, even if I didn't know where it was going for a while. Excellent ideas and an exploration of AI and its consequences. Nice nods to The Moon is a Harsh Mistress and other classics. Recommended.

Historia
Rocket science is often celebrated as the ultimate triumph of technology. But it's not. Rather, it's the apex of a certain thought process—a way to imagine the unimaginable and solve the unsolvable. It's the same thought process that enabled Neil Armstrong to take his giant leap for mankind, that allows spacecraft to travel millions of miles through outer space and land on a precise spot, and that brings us closer to colonizing other planets.

Fantastic book on how to reframe thinking
Revisado: 04-29-20
I can see how the things Ozan teaches here can be applied to any industry from a single entrepreneur to a large company. Excellent examples reinforce key concepts and a nice injection of humor and self-effacement by the author help make his points memorable. Recommended for nearly any reader.
