This is exactly like all the others, and it scratches my itch. I swear more than half the reason I got a subscription to Audible is to get more McGill every half year. Please pick up the pace.❤️⏩

I love this series, even though McGill is unrealistically indispensable but at the same time undervalued by the brass. Print me out if I ever lose my balls! 🤣 When is the next book coming out? I need my McGill fix. 😉

Verbalized all of Epictetus' surviving dictations, the sun source of the late Stoic life philosophy.

I've been studying Stoicism for a couple of years and have listen to about a dozen audiobooks repeatedly. This is the best, mostly because Epictetus is the sun source. No other makes so clear the "Stoic Fork."

I listen to A LOT of Audible audiobooks, but there is something about the guy who plays the voice of Ian Dex that is positive and makes the whole thing special.

I am not what you would call a sentimental person, but this is one heck of a tear jerker. For you who speak ill of AI, you ought to realize that they can be programmed to be the best of us too. The Singularity is near.

Just one person read this story, so performance rate low, not to diss that performer's skill. His voice as ComHead's girl friend is even more whiny than the script. That being said, the story and overall is very good. Transhumanism is a rather new thing, and this story looks at it well. It raises your consciousness to this evolutionary philosophy, and since it is extraordinarily important (not least because the sooner you augment the better off you'll be) it elevates the importance of this audiobook. One other thing: technological improvement is exponential - like compounded interest is to the Singularity Feedback Loop. Do you understand what this implies for the next 20 years? Time and space constraints prohibit me from elaborating further. Ever hear of the Neuralink (Musk's company)?

I rarely bother to write a review of a book/audiobook, even when I really like them. I have purchased and listened repeatedly to about a dozen Stoic audiobooks, and this one (A Guide to the Good Life) has been the one of the most rewarding, and certainly the more enlightening. Specifically, I was well aware of the Stoic mind techniques, but I have never heard such a great rational for them. That insight was just an example of the several invaluable ones contained in this audiobook. Generally, Stoicism is a priceless gem of technology from 3000 years ago, more so than most people realize with the imminent arrival of radical life extension. The ability to gain mental resilience and joy will mean, not a few decade utilitarian improvement, but open the door to a several century one, and dare I say possibly enable it! Most people do not want to live longer than their "allotted" 80 years, and most look forward to the natural end. But, to use a metaphor, if it hurts to ride a bike, you are probably riding it wrong. Stoicism, I am convinced, is the "life philosophy" (I personally would describe it by a different term, that of "psychological technology") of the future, and this audiobook is one of the top gems I've found when studying it like my life depends upon it (because it likely does).

Number Six and only one more to go. :'( What a role model that psycho is! Thinkin outside the box (there must be some Southern saying that McGill would come up with). Too bad he didn't get promoted in #6. >:(
