Very slow start but Silvia is one of my favorite authors so I stuck with the story and it soon had me enthralled.

Wonderful fun story! Empowering, historically correct and great character development. I looked forward to listening to this book as I was transported to Middle
ages England through the story and the powerful reader. I highly recommend this book for f historical fiction is your thing.

I was born Central American to a US born person worked for the US government there during the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. The writer’s grasp of the issues is spot on as his story educates his readers on the tragic social political reality of Central America of the past decades and how the US impacted the political processes there resulting in the cruel and almost impossible immigration crisis we are all currently living through in the US. Thank you, Jonathan Blitzer for this empathic tribute to all the immigrants.

I really enjoyed both the story and the reader. They book; in spite of being about very sad social matters in India such as caste and discrimination, abuse and mistreatment of woman told a very compelling story about women finding strength to overcome wrongs by seeking support and love in their own sisterhood. This type of support is never perfect and the author uses dark humor to describe these mishaps but in the end friendships help the main character overcome the wrongs done to her.

It’s AMAZING HEARTBREAKING well written and well read a must read nowadays. I’m not Mexican but Central American and I feel the book portrays people as people without labels as we are meant to be.

Struggled to make out Will Patton's narration during complex dialog as he would deepen his voice for these parts.
