I can honestly say I officially like this series even more than Jane's. Devoured it in one day.

Historia
When Maddy Fitch discovers there's a hit out on the love of her life - the handsome, but often secretive Adam Ward - she concludes life with such a powerful man may never be normal. But who wants normal? Not Maddy - mystery writer and sometimes-sleuth. The heart-stopping action begins immediately in Wickingham Way when an attempt is made on Adam's life, prompting the couple to seek refuge at a "safe house." Tucked away in a cabin deep in the heart of Maine, Maddy and Adam fall deeper in love. But their happiness is cut short when someone they care for deeply is kidnapped, by the same organization that wants Adam Ward dead.

Utterly vapid drivel

I'm amazed audible is ballsy enough to charge money for this tripe. kudos to the narrator who managed to sound excited and engaged throughout a truly ridiculous story.

Historia
When I found myself facing down the scariest black-magic felon in the city, practically daring him to abduct me, I had to wonder exactly how I ended up here. It all started when I accidentally landed a job as a bartender - but not at a bar. At a guild, populated by mages, sorcerers, alchemists, witches, and psychics. Good thing this lame-o human is adaptable, right? Then my favorite guild members - three sexy, powerful, and intermittently charming mages - asked for my help. Did they want access to my encyclopedic knowledge of cocktails? Oh no.

3.5 stars, fun and compelling series so far
Revisado: 11-25-18
Was pleasantly surprised by the first one and this second one while not quite as good as the first, still provided a fun adventure. Looking forward to the next book definitely, and if this turns into a longer series rather than the usual trilogy, all the better!

As usual, she's left me pining for more! 4.5 stars
Revisado: 12-28-17
Came across this series recently and binged on it non-stop. Since I was starting from the beginning, the first few books were a bit dated, but held up pretty well. Ms. Sharp has created a hell of a character in Charlie Fox. I'm bitter and enthralled all at once after finishing this last book and can only hope that the wait for the next installment will not be as long.
I hope the rest of this series is made available on Audible. I got a hold of the complete audio series and it was a fantastic listen, can't recommend it enough. Lucy Patterson's narration of Fox Hunter was easily my favourite of the lot. Keep 'em coming, Zoe. I need closure!

The male narrator ruined it for me
Revisado: 03-08-17
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I have to be honest, the story wasn't strong to begin with. Lorelai King was great as always, but adding a male narrator just made it all kinds of worse. I'm super disappointed. I've been waiting for this book for ages and so much of what makes us invest in these characters and care comes from the voices Lorelai created for them. This completely ruined Adam for me.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Lorelei King?
Lorelai King is great a huge part of why I listen to this series. The male narrator left much to be desired and kind of ruined the book for me. For male narrators, I would suggest Roger Wayne, but not for this series. The fact of the matter is Ms. King has spent years creating the voices for these characters and alot of us fans are really attached to the character voices we know through her.
Did Silence Fallen inspire you to do anything?

painful to get through, I almost returned it
Revisado: 04-17-15
I'm honestly at a loss. It took forever to get into the story and it didn't really get interesting until the end. I'm sorry but the narration was truly painful to listen to. I'm not sure if I would have disliked the story as much had I just read it. that being said, while the story did improve towards the end (and I do mean the last 5 or 6 chapters), I'm not crazy about the author's writing style. I love audible and the urban fantasy genre, and having just listened to the newest Jane Yellowrock installment perhaps my expectations are unfair. I'm fairly certain Kristine Hvam or Tavia Gilbert should narrate pretty much everything. However, having spent many hours discovering new authors and lesser known gems with perfectly good narrators, all I can say is in my less than humble opinion, this story and this narrator do NOT go well together. I will say this though- the end did leave me curious enough that I'm wondering about the next book. I'm just not sure whether to read it instead or try to listen, as I'm genuinely not sure what bugged me most, the writing style or the narrator. YMMV, seems plenty of people enjoyed it enough to wax poetic - I just wasn't one of them.
