I liked the mysterious aspect of the disappearance, and the characters were interesting. However, the story line didn’t see as credible to me. The narration was good.

The author, Percival Everett, wrote a very compelling narrative - and was the perfect “sister” piece to The Adventures of Huck Finn and of course told from a unique perspective. Very well-written, impactful, and the story flowed.

This was a very well-written and insightful read about women who served in Vietnam . . . and of both the men and women who came home to a company who rejected them. I was young at the time but will never forget the ugliness and divisiveness in the country.

I liked the storytelling - it was almost lyrical/poetic - and interesting perspectives interwoven throughout the novel

Enjoyed the story-telling and descriptive, almost poetic type narrative - made for a compelling read. However, there were aspects that had me feeling a bit ambivalent about it — for example the whole Clara sub-plot. But overall, enjoyed the imagery and weaving of characters.

I found this book to be very interesting, educational, and well-written. So hard to get one's head wrapped around how pervasive was the heinous treatment of others during the periods of slavery in our country. Hard to read (listen to) in parts, but very compelling and well-written and narrated. I'd highly recommend this book (not to mention how timely it is give our current cultural environment).

I thought the author's journey and commitment to living amongst the people she writes about was pretty amazing. And, the book was well-written; however, the narration (despite it being by the author herself) was not compelling and didn't draw me in. I ended up switching over to reading the book. But, I wouldn't recommend this one for Audible (sorry!).

I am very glad I read this book about Leonardo da Vinci. He certainly was a fascinating figure and ultimate definition of a renaissance man. Walter Isaacson did an incredible job weaving Leonardo's life story from the thousands of Leonardo's notebook pages he poured through as well as the art galleries visited. One word of caution: this is not a 'lively' read and can be a bit dry in parts, but it is well worth knowing and understanding more about such an important and influential historic, artistic, and scientific genius. The narration was also very well-done!
