Historia
Sleep is one of the most important but least understood aspects of our life, wellness, and longevity. Until very recently, science had no answer to the question of why we sleep, or what good it served, or why we suffer such devastating health consequences when we don't sleep. Compared to the other basic drives in life - eating, drinking, and reproducing - the purpose of sleep remained elusive.

Interesting facts and theories. Will increase your appreciation for sleep and encourage your to get more.

Every time I hear “evolution” or the like, I think: “more theory and guesswork”. Nevertheless, I got a great deal out of the book and will probably listen to it again.

Historia
Before the discovery of insulin, diabetes was treated almost exclusively through diet, from subsistence on meat, to reliance on fats, to repeated fasting and near-starvation regimens. After two centuries of conflicting medical advice, most authorities today believe that those with diabetes can have the same dietary freedom enjoyed by the rest of us, leaving the job of controlling their disease to insulin therapy and other blood-sugar-lowering medications.

Good, but…
Revisado: 08-20-23
I was hoping for more personably applicable diet advice and education rather than so much about how the world has done us wrong. Too many hints at the author’s politics. Just educate us and allow us to decide please.

Great Short
Revisado: 03-01-23
Quick, short, valuable overview that includes both medical and spiritual help. I had questions/disagreement on the matter of good vs bad fats but otherwise liked and appreciated the book. Great for reviewing the most important basics.

Historia
Heart disease is the number-one killer in the world. Despite ever-advancing medical procedures and more powerful pharmaceutical drugs, the rate of heart disease continues to rise. According to Dr. Stephen Hussey, this is due in part to misunderstandings about how the heart really functions and how to keep it healthy. These misunderstandings result in improper medical approaches and off-target intervention therapies.

Good Read except…
Revisado: 02-28-23
Very helpful, but connecting this all to “Evolution” was a negative for me. The THEORY of Evolution is a THEORY. Unproven, unprovable, and forever changing. The author could have come to the same conclusions without relying on the supposition the humans evolved from or as meat eaters. (And I am a meat eater.)
