Historia
A man. His ex-girlfriend's cat. A sadistic game show unlike anything in the universe: a dungeon crawl where survival depends on killing your prey in the most entertaining way possible. In a flash, every human-erected construction on Earth - from Buckingham Palace to the tiniest of sheds - collapses in a heap, sinking into the ground. The buildings and all the people inside have all been atomized and transformed into the dungeon: an 18-level labyrinth filled with traps, monsters, and loot.

Glorious and Painful, but I couldn't stop listening to all 5.
Revisado: 05-19-17
This is a overall review of all 5 books. I couldn't identify well with the main character, at least half the time. I find him infuriating and frustrating at times. I can't figure out if the author did this on purpose, or his good natured bungling came across from the narrator. I wanted to slap him sooo many times. I do find, on these occasions, my attractiveness level for the character goes up when I read instead of listen. A few of the narrative sections felt repetitive and annoying to listen to because of this. If I was reading I would have skimmed those paragraphs and slowed for the rest. Overall it was enjoyable and a little addictive.
I really did enjoy the world and reality mix. I can see many branching story threads, and I have no idea what final direction the author is going to take. The ending was a bit abrupt, but it worked. You could even end the series there, with the cliff hanger giving rise to many questions and open threads unresolved. That's not my cup of tea though. There are two more books at least that have yet to be translated from Russian that I can't wait to read. Oh if you come across the (really, really) short story and are looking forward to the next book. DON'T read it yet. I misunderstood what spoilers they were talking about. However, if you could not abide by the abrupt ending and can't wait it may grant you the patients you need.

Historia
For eons, conquering dungeons has been the most efficient way to become a strong adventurer. Although not everything is as straightforward as it seems. Several questions have always plagued the minds of those who enter these mythical places of power: why are there so many monsters? Where do the amazing weaponry and heavy gold coins come from? Why does the very air fill with life-giving energies? Cal has all of the answers to these age-old questions, for a very simple reason. He is a Dungeon Heart.

RPG as a book.
Revisado: 04-02-17
An interesting perspective. Enjoyable, but some dissonance regarding fluctuations in maturity level content and the humour that I'm finding hard to describe exactly why I thought it was mildly irritating. They did not significantly detract from the overall experience.

Historia
It has been 20 years since the end of the war. The dictatorial Augurs, once thought of almost as gods, were overthrown and wiped out during the conflict, their much-feared powers mysteriously failing them. Those who had ruled under them, men and women with a lesser ability known as the Gift, avoided the Augurs' fate only by submitting themselves to the rebellion's Four Tenets.

Good story performance.
Revisado: 02-23-15
Although an epic tale it flowed well and characters were not introduced at too fast a rate. Interesting characters, each with flaws and issues that colour their choices. Performance: each character was distinct enough that it was easy to tell whom was whom. A pleasant warm narration that's easy to listen too.

Good story and performance flat characters.
Revisado: 02-13-15
The seemingly one dimensional main characters still lets this series down. I had hope, because the secondary and side characters felt real, where as the single virtue embodiment of the main characters gets old. Maybe it's intentional, however, the lack of growth or adaptation lets it down in my opinion. Every situation is approached the same way by the same character. Despite the life treating consequences faced no one seems to learn anything.
Now that I think about it, it is not the life altering battles that annoy me, it's the day to day description that loose it. A prince that can't act at least a little civilised and still be portrayed as a murdering bastered is I think what looses it for me. The author goes too far with the uncompromising state of each main character that you can no longer identify with them. A swordsman who has the determination and dedication to be the best surely would learn in the process of fighting a few skills he could apply to life.

Historia
Arden Lesstymine (known to everyone as Trouble) likes attention as much as the next girl, but this is getting ridiculous. When an insane stranger is murdered at the inn where she works, Trouble becomes the next Soulbearer for the disembodied god of chaos, Loku. Yes, it comes with the ability to channel the god's limitless power, but at the cost of her sanity - literally.

Too much unbelievable romance ruined a good story
Revisado: 02-09-15
I enjoyed the book, but, I found myself frustrated at the almost random and constant insertion of dick throbbing vag dripping drama that was not consistent with the characters personalities. A 300 year old elf and a virginal tavern wench in the heavy male chauvistic culture should not respond to the a la carte weak advances of a 14 year old concept of lust and love.
The rest of the times I thought the characters different enough and their motivations believable, but in reality, this was a weak romance novel with a few short scenes of magical kick ass.
I think if the author reduced the number of mind numbing erections scenes it would have had a greater impact when they did occur.

Good story.
Revisado: 01-25-15
Had trouble in the beginning with the main characters "stupidity". But it got better as it went on and I realised it was just a bit of character development that was overlong on the no brains side. Some of the action felt short. I realise it was meant to be abrupt intentionally but it did not have enough contrast to have that sudden feeling. Overall I enjoyed the story for its originality.

Historia
Apprentice Swordceror, the first volume of the Blademage Saga, is a debut novel that tells the story of a young man trapped between the separate and incompatible worlds of Wizards and Warriors. The main character, Kevon, is easily identified with, possessing the raw talent we all wish we had, and the naiveté we hope we lack. His journey through betrayal, love, loss, and personal growth is accentuated by the friends and allies that he comes to surround himself with.

Hard to get into but then good
Revisado: 01-19-15
Not sure if it was just too jumpy in the beginning, or because I got interrupted so many times before I could get started, and had to listen to the first several chapters multiple times, but once I identified all the players the story flowed. Even though it heads towards a predictable destination all the twists and turns are unexpected and imaginative. I look forward to having time to listen to the sequel.
