Historia
Burnout. Many women in America have experienced it. What’s expected of women and what it’s really like to be a woman in today’s world are two very different things - and women exhaust themselves trying to close the gap between them. Sisters Emily Nagoski, PhD, and Amelia Nagoski, DMA, are here to help end the cycle of feeling overwhelmed and exhausted. Instead of asking us to ignore the very real obstacles and societal pressures that stand between women and well-being, they explain with compassion and optimism what we’re up against - and teach us how to fight back.

Historia
In Come as You Are, Emily Nagoski, PhD, revolutionized the way we think about women’s sexuality. Now, in Come Together, Nagoski takes on a fundamentally misunderstood subject: sex in long-term relationships. Most of us struggle at some point to maintain a sexual connection with our partner/s or spouse. And many of us are given not-very-good advice on what to do about it.

Outstanding relationship book
Revisado: 05-16-24
I liked how utterly surprised I was that this book was only about sex about 50%. All of it was about our relationship to ourselves, partners and society. I adored the author reading her own book. I might turn right around and relisten. I did buy a paper copy too because I wanted access to some of the more technical.descriptions, like the Emotional Floorplan and the Handbooks, Boy and Girl.
I also look forward to reading her co-authored book soon.

A Timeless, Beloved Book
Revisado: 03-29-24
I loved the readers of this novel. I read it with my eyes several years ago and recommended it to a few people. I decided.to read it again and was once again reminded why I call this my favorite book of all time.

Historia
Examples of antiracist conversations highlight different ways to initiate dialogue, raise awareness, speak one's truth, and make clear, doable requests or demands for change. Drawing on her experience as a clinical psychologist, a nonviolent communication practitioner, and an Afro-Caribbean immigrant, Dr. Manning provides a model of antiracist dialogue with practical applications for individuals and organizations.

Revisado: 03-23-24
This audiobook version is spectacular, and the book as a whole (I have a paper copy) will be a profound guide for future generations and college semesters where Antiracism and the very practical philosophy of Nonviolent Communication will be taught.
I personally plan to reread this annually because the content is so thorough and practical for all human interactions.
I look forward to future works by Roxy Manning and count her as a revolutionary of Beloved Community.

Historia
Acclaimed scientist Hope Jahren has built three laboratories in which she's studied trees, flowers, seeds, and soil. Her first book might have been a revelatory treatise on plant life. Lab Girl is that, but it is also so much more. Because in it, Jahren also shares with us her inspiring life story, in prose that takes your breath away.

Love stories
Revisado: 05-06-16
This is one of the best non-fiction works I've come across. Hope Jahren weaves a tale of love of many things, human and otherwise organic. Her passion for science earns her a seat at the Nibel ceremonies. I hope she writes more.
