Historia
Fischer has everything he needs in life: blossoming friendships, a menagerie of cute animal companions, a waterfront property with easy access to fishing, and enough coffee to take out a small elephant or a really big dog. Unfortunately, Fischer can’t catch a break. Cosmic forces? Still throwing curveballs. The bigwigs in the capital? Starting to sniff around his business. Cults? Still culting. Plus, awakened beings are washing up on his shores like flotsam after a storm. And worst of all? His coffee guy ghosted him!

More of the same, for better or worse
Revisado: 07-25-24
Do I really enjoyed the first book, and this one is more of the same, the problem is, for me at least, there is no real conflicts and the MC is perfect at pretty much everything, seriously every time he cooks it brings a tear to someone's eye, it just became too much for me, the comedy was still good, I'll probably still get book 3, but I struggled to get through this one.

pretty good time
Revisado: 06-19-24
This book was pretty good, the style system is interesting as is some of the world building and the characters. The narration is good for the most part but the stat reads and a few other small parts felt a little clunky, still really good overall.

Historia
When horror-obsessed Riley Lawrence and his group of college friends arrive in the small town of Carousel for their Centennial Celebration, the few decrepit cars parked in the street don’t scare them. But when they enter a locked building, an animatronic usher hands them each a ticket, and the lights dim, Riley realizes they’ve entered the inescapable patchwork of a horror movie set. And they’ve each been assigned an archetype—Scholar, Athlete, Eye Candy, Final Girl—to play out as the curtains rise.

A Fresh take on the litrpg genre
Revisado: 03-14-24
This story is a really unique one in this genre instead of swords and sorcery you get horror movies and clichés the trope system is a really cool take on classes and skills. There are a few points where a decision doesnt make perfect sense to me but that happens in horror movies all the time so it still fits and is nothing that really brings the story down. The narrator does a good job though an occasional line lacks some of the emotion that seems like it should be present, though its rare. Definitely recommend this book and hope to see the sequel soon

Pretty fun story
Revisado: 03-12-24
This book was overall a really good time, the world is interesting with a lot of potential and questions about how it got to the way it is. The powers and skills are cool and rather unusual for the genre, the characters are likeable as well. There are a few moments where the character asks a question she ( and us) should already know the answer to and some of the twists were a bit predictable but nothing big enough to bring the story down.
Only 2 real issues 1 as other reviews have stated there is no reason for the light isekai aspect present, it is mentioned a couple times in passing but as of this book adds nothing to the story. Secondly the narration is good but she talks very fast, now this could just be because Ive listened to slower narrators lately but it was noticeable until i got used to it (been a while since ive listened to other works narrated by Andrea Parsneau so dont remeber is this is her normal pace). Stat read outs are present and decently frequent but are usually short enough to skip easily if desired. All in all a good book and im excited to see where it goes from here

A story that delivers
Revisado: 03-07-24
A pretty good story definitely fitting the cozy isekai description. Good humor and likeable characters and a cool world that id love to see more of. The story does have a partial focus on romance so if thats not your thing just be aware it's there (not spicy) it is well done though. Higly recommended, especially it you like stories like legends and lattes or cursed cocktails

Didn't suck me in
Revisado: 11-09-23
First off the concept of this book is great, really funny and original, but the concept alone isn't enough for me, the book is not badly written or anything it's just has a very slow start. I listened to about 5 hours of the book and ended up losing interest. The narrator is pretty good but the way they end some of their sentences is odd, like it feels like they forget the period at the end. if the book sounds good to you though give it a shot maybe it will hold your interest more than it did mine

Historia
This is a tale that used to be about dungeons... Now it's mostly about walking in the woods with a friend, looking for mushrooms to put in your soup. Maybe haggling with the squash seller, or taking care of a neglected garden, or even just putting some jam on a good shortbread biscuit. And yes, sometimes you still go down into the dungeons with your friends, and kill monsters there, disarm traps, avoid spiked pits etcetera, etcetera. But when you come out now, it's not really about the gold and loot.

Pretty good
Revisado: 10-12-23
The story was good overall, a bit slow and light on plot due to the type of book it is, but still compelling enough for me to want to read the next book. my only real issue was it felt a little heavy handed on the in universe religion and its relation to sexual orientation, it just seemed to pop up every couple chapters or so and while fine at first just began to feel very repetitive without really adding anything new from the last time. Narrator did a good job with the voices and performance overall and I'm definitely going to grab the next volume.
