Autist Helps Kill Animals w/ Same Cognitive Style
Revisado: 12-13-22
Dismisses all the animal lives out of hand because "they'll eventually die anyway." Imagine using that justification for murder. Absurd argument. "Look, I made a murder weapon that lets me kill people painlessly." We'd label that person a sociopath and we would argue they are complicit. Her autism is no excuse for what she helps enable.

Contrary to what some may say, this audiobook, rather than being the product of a demonic lie, is an open and honest set of answers to the questions wrestled with by countless Christians the world over... Distefano creatively puts his unique perspective and humor with care. Refreshing and liberating, this is a must listen for any who dare question their inherited doctrines.

Decent Presentation, Bad Reading
Revisado: 07-16-19
Mispronounced English words, mispronounced foreign words, stumbled sentences.
Otherwise good presentation of Universalist arguments for a broad public.

Excellent text, slightly disappointing performance
Revisado: 07-03-19
This is an excellent book, but the performer mispronounces a thing or two, including... Foucault's name. Oy.
If you're a performer, don't guess at how to pronounce things you don't know. Look it up!

Historia
The modern materialist approach to life has conspicuously failed to explain such central mind-related features of our world as consciousness, intentionality, meaning, and value. This failure to account for something so integral to nature as mind, argues philosopher Thomas Nagel, is a major problem, threatening to unravel the entire naturalistic world picture, extending to biology, evolutionary theory, and cosmology. Since minds are features of biological systems that have developed through evolution, the standard materialist version of evolutionary biology is fundamentally incomplete.

Good book, bad reading.

The performer repeatedly mispronounces key terms, including, shockingly, Aristotelian. I would have expected higher quality.

Historia
All of us long to know what life after death will be like. Best-selling author John Burke is no exception. In Imagine Heaven, Burke compares over 100 gripping stories of near-death experiences (NDEs) to what Scripture says about our biggest questions of heaven: Will I be myself? Will I see friends and loved ones? What will heaven look like? What is God like? What will we do forever? What about children and pets?

Very particular fundamentalist perspective. Low key racist and Islamophobic. Narrator also sexist and racist. Alas.

Historia
There was a time when “universe” meant all there is. Everything. Yet, in recent years discoveries in physics and cosmology have led a number of scientists to conclude that our universe may be one among many. With crystal-clear prose and inspired use of analogy, Brian Greene shows how a range of different “multiverse” proposals emerges from theories developed to explain the most refined observations of both subatomic particles and the dark depths of space.

Good book, slightly less good recording
Revisado: 01-31-18
I loved this book, as I do for most of the author's texts. That said, the narrator occasionally sounds drunk, slurring technical terms. Also, the music used in the opening and closing credits is odd and incongruous.

Historia
Thirty years ago, "mindfulness" was a Buddhist principle mostly obscure to the west. Today, it is a popular cure-all for Americans' daily problems. A massive and lucrative industry promotes mindfulness in every aspect of life, however mundane or unlikely: Americans of various faiths (or none at all) practice mindful eating, mindful sex, mindful parenting, mindfulness in the office, mindful sports, mindfulness-based stress relief and addiction recovery, and hire mindful divorce lawyers.

Terrible Performance
Revisado: 10-03-17
Great, useful book.
Terrible performance. The choice of voices is odd. The performer frequently doesn't understand the text and mispronounces key terms and places, even ones associated with his presumably American Anglophone background. Disastrous.
