Very glad I took the chance on a short 3+ hour story, as I usually gravitate towards longer novels. You certainly won’t be disappointed.

Would have never thought to pick this novel, or series, but listened to “Heirs of Empire:
The Scourwind Legacy, Book 1,” by Evan Currie, & liked the author so much I browsed through his other works. Glad I did! I would have thought the plot idea much too played out, but Currie creates an interesting take on the genre & his writing keeps you interested & engaged. Definitely worth your time! I’m heading directly for Book 2!

This novel unexpectedly sucked me in and left me hooked. Voice actor, Michael Braun, while deeply reminiscent of R.C. Bray, did an excellent job. The characters are likable, the pacing is consistent, and the plot enjoyably thickens. I'm looking forward to beginning book 2 of the series!

This 3rd iteration of 'The Lost Fleet' series is well written & well performed, in keeping with it's previous two novels. However, this novel employed much too much time-wasting on a couple main characters' emotional turmoil - adding nothing to the story or overarching plot.

Besides needing to fast forward through those (many) annoying, blathering interruptions, this novel is worth the time & credit. Though, I do find myself Hoping, (with a capital H), that the 4th installment of 'The Lost Fleet', Valiant, leaves the *prolonged & unnecessary emotional tantrums by the wayside.

The Three-Body Problem, by Cixin Liu, is great *"Hard Science Fiction." Also, the novel provides interesting insight into China's Cultural Revolution & is highly imaginative as a whole. It'll be interesting to see just how Netflix's adaptation realizes this work.

I listened to Terra Nova Chronicles: Books 1 & 2 after completing the last book of the Ember War novels, Xaros Reckoning, as suggested. Part of what I loved about the Ember War novels is the fact that the characters, even those used as comic relief, were extremely competent at their jobs. I find nothing more frustrating than characters who make ridiculous, logic-less, decisions & have the wrong temperament for their assigned positions - especially when the character is an officer. Dont get me wrong, T.N.C: books 1 & 2 are not bad. They include characters you know & love, assuming you're listening in order, & many of the same elements you've come to enjoy from the E.W. novels are present. There is, however, a missing ingredient, an absent essence resulting in it not quite being as good as the prior novels. I will, however, more than likely, purchase & complete the final two Terra Nova Chronicles novels before continuing on with The Kesaht Conflict novels. The series, as a whole, is fantastic.

If you're looking for an action packed wild Sci-Fi ride, with humor throughout, likable characters who are easy to root for, & a plot that draws you in & keeps you interested, than Richard Fox's Ember War Saga & the entire Ember-verse of novels are for you. You certainly won't be disappointed.

Absolutely fantastic! After listening to 45.5 hours of Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archive, Book 1, The Way Of Kings, in what was pretty much one sitting, I literally have no choice but to immediately purchase, & begin reading, the 48+ hours of book 2, Words Of Radiance, due to an unrelenting thirst for more of this deeply clever, imaginative, engrossing, & engaging literature. And I do mean *Literature, with a Capital "L".
A true work of art.

I needed something short to take a break from an extended, intricate, Sci Fi series. Project Kawayan was selected on a whim, as it looked interesting. I didn't expect to be cleverly immersed in, what I see as, the meat of humanity's failures as a species. (Re: selfishness & the "other"/tribalism) You're certainly not overwhelmed by it, but it's vividly there. Should be required reading for every human 12≤ y/o, with discussions to follow.
