Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Best Listen in Five Years!
Revisado: 02-10-25
This is one of the most raw, honest, invasive, entertaining but truly meaningful books I have read/listened to in the past five years. I am old enough to be Mark's father, but I can say he showed me and made me think about things in a whole new light and really impacted my thinking. I have read hundreds of books on business, sports, life, the afterlife, previous life and many other subjects regarding this journey we call life, and, I can say this is one of the best.
The author shares his experiences and learnings without it being a "look at me" book and focuses on what we all need to learn. What I liked most is that it is never boring, never lecturing and, well, just makes you think.
The last chapter is the best and really makes you appreciate life.
Thank you Mark!

Historia
Did you ever felt like something’s off in a close relationship or casual encounter - you’re being pressured, controlled, or even feel like you’re questioning yourself more than usual - it could be manipulation. The point of this piece of work is not to teach people to never trust anyone or to view every manipulator as a monster. Instead, the audiobook is used as a guide to help people understand how to protect themselves from harmful manipulation as well as how to escape a dangerous manipulator safely.

Some Potential But Too Much Spam
Revisado: 01-12-25
This book has a couple of good points, but most is repetitive banter about getting out of abusive relationships. Misleading title and lack of focus. Getting my credits back for this one.

Historia
So often, books about learning to be more persuasive assume that everyone wants to dominate and control their worlds. They assume, so much of the time, that people are cynical, cruel, and just looking for power so that they can start stepping on people. That is not the case with this audiobook! Quite the contrary, this book will give you a road map to ensure that you are not only capable of defending yourself against bullies, con men, and cruelty but that you are capable of making other people's lives better, too.

Rambles without ever teaching anything
Revisado: 01-02-25
This book had promise but it never gets to teaching you anything. I spends most of its time rehashing the ethical use of Persuasion vs. unethical but never teaches you about ethical persuasion. Lots of words. Lots of stories. Little substance.

Too much trivia and very little engineering
Revisado: 12-23-23
I really wanted this to be good and spent four hours of my life listening to it. Disappointing is the word I would use.
This book is history focused and is NOT engineering focused. This is misleading that it tells you that you will know how to be an engineer. Almost no technical information and that which is presented is not at an engineering level.
The good is that it is a nice history walk. The bad news is that this is in no way a "degree in a book."
The narrator is OK but spends more time telling the birth to death dates then explaining the content. The book is weak, and the audio version is worse due to reading everything verbatim.
