Long Time Lover

I love this series so much. I first was introduced in high school and it has easily become my favorite series. it is my top favorite.

I cried in this book. I got emotionally involved more than I realized. I struggle with the decisions with her. The heartbreak. The feeling of loneliness. To watch her relationships grow and break. I can't wait to read book 3.

Not as good as I hoped

first I want to start by stating that I think I would have enjoyed it better had I read it or there were different narrators. The female narrator made Skyler sound like she was in her forties and while Skyler is mature for a 19 year old she is still a nineteen-year-old it should sound a lot more like 1. The narrator doing Dimitri voice I wasn't quite fond of except I did like how he was on Paul and Joseph. Pretty much everybody else but Dimitri I think my biggest problem is he could not pronounce the names and it just grinded on my nerves. The female narrator was my biggest pet peeve though and the biggest one I struggled with. the book was good I like that the story developed Skyler and Joseph and Paul's relationship allowed us to see where it had developed. I like how it showed more of her power and what she can do. I just feel like it jumped too fast from her not wanting anything to do with Dimitri and being scared comma too them being fully committed to each other to the point that she would even make love with him even though she has a terrible sexual history. Sindel couldn't even get over her one rape incident but you're telling me Skyler got over her numerous sex abuse sex traffic trafficking incidents from when she was a child. Not likely.

I shouldn't complain because I think I got this book free with 1.99 audio added. but I had to stop it and read other books before I came back. it's not so much the story, as it is the narrator. she's somewhat nasally, and sounds whiney. yes the female character seemed some whiney but not how this narrator portrayed her. she's a broken woman who came out of a terrible situation. She's having whiplash from everything that keeps happening to her, yes, but she's aggressive and fiesty. I just don't feel that was portrayed enough.

I absolutely love this series and am very sad the next 4 are not on audible! the 2 novellas 5.5 and 7.5, and the novels 6 and 7. The narrator is by far my favorite narrator. She does such an amazing job bringing the books to life!

oh my gosh not only did I love the story but the narrators were great! they definitely cause heart racing and blushing at both battles and the romance scenes!

This book brings so much into play. Dragons, mages, vampires, families, combining worlds. it shows power and love. this was a great book. And I've really started to love the narrator.
