Loved this book!
Revisado: 06-06-24
This book was beyond my expectations. I love medical books. This was not only an overview of the field of Forensic Pathology, what it involves it has a great personal story
woven to the details of true stories along the way. I don’t have one negative to say about this book.

But Jenny knows the time is finally here. After the war, in a mountainside village in Italy, she left behind a piece of her heart. However painful, she must return to Cinque Alberi. And lay the past to rest.

Historia
For much of her life, Anne Morrow, the shy daughter of the U.S. ambassador to Mexico, has stood in the shadows of those around her, including her millionaire father and vibrant older sister, who often steals the spotlight. Then Anne, a college senior with hidden literary aspirations, travels to Mexico City to spend Christmas with her family. There she meets Colonel Charles Lindbergh, fresh off his celebrated 1927 solo flight across the Atlantic. Enthralled by Charles’s assurance and fame, Anne is certain the celebrated aviator has scarcely noticed her. But she is wrong.

Haven’t enjoyed a historical novel as much as this!
Revisado: 01-24-22
This story was so compelling, so well told and so well narrated! I am not able to decide what about this book I like best. The brutal honesty of the damage fame and it’s surroundings can be. The tragedy of truth behind the scenes. The heartbreaking emotions and its destructiveness. This author is so very good at moving the story forward with finesse. I love everything about the raw details of the Lindbergh’s story.

Meredith and Nina Whitson are as different as sisters can be. One stayed at home to raise her children and manage the family apple orchard; the other followed a dream and traveled the world to become a famous photojournalist. But when their beloved father falls ill, Meredith and Nina find themselves together again, standing alongside their cold, disapproving mother, Anya, who even now, offers no comfort to her daughters.

Overall a great book!
Revisado: 01-01-22
I really liked this book after it finally got to the story. It just took too long for me to start seeing the real story. And the narrator should just stick to her Russian accent. Maybe that was a lot of the issue because I hated the hard, gritty, unemotional and stiff oration. Then it happened the beautiful tone of a Russian woman whose voice alone captured more than the words were saying. But again the wait was hard for me.

This was not as good as the Joe O’Loughin series. It ended like there will be a sequel. This psychiatrist is no Joe and I doubt a series will be as addicting.
Still I did enjoy the book.

Hen and her husband, Lloyd, have settled into a quiet life in a new house outside of Boston, Massachusetts. Hen (short for Henrietta) is an illustrator and works out of a studio nearby and has found the right meds to control her bipolar disorder. Finally, she’s found some stability and peace. But when they meet the neighbors next door, that calm begins to erode as she spots a familiar object displayed on the husband’s office shelf. The sports trophy looks exactly like one that went missing from the home of a young man who was killed two years ago.

I so loved The Kind Worth Killing! I can't believe this is the same author. I haven't even finished. It drives me crazy when the characters make such stupid choices, time after time after time. Are the stellar reviews for real?
