Sir Phillip knew that Eloise Bridgerton was a spinster, and so he'd proposed, figuring that she'd be homely and unassuming, and more than a little desperate for an offer of marriage. Except...she wasn't. The beautiful woman on his doorstep was anything but quiet, and when she stopped talking long enough to close her mouth, all he wanted to do was kiss her... and more. Did he think she was mad?

Another Bridgerton hitched
Revisado: 12-19-24
it's a Bridgerton book... not quite as spicy as the others, but it was interesting to see what happened to everyone's favorite Eloise.

Took a while to get into
Revisado: 08-11-20
Not sure if ti was the author's style or the narrator, but it took a while to get into this book. The murder was interesting, but it took a long time to get into it. The mystery was interesting enough to want to finish. May pick up the next book. (had not read the first book, maybe that is why?)

Sophie Kinsella's debut is a romp through the perils of shopping and spending, spending, spending! Becky can't resist a sale, and she's only a little overdrawn on her VISA. Readers will laugh aloud at Becky's retail adventures as she finds new and creative ways to relieve her increasingly credit card debt. Emily Gray's narration bounces along with Becky and her buying whims, while delivering a humorous account of what happens when credit goes bad.

what... how... pleasantly surprised
Revisado: 07-20-20
ok I'm in love with Rebecca Bloomwood. She is a mess, stubborn, headstrong, straight out of clueless, however her sense of right and wrong are strong and through that she is able to flesh out justice. She grows, she messes up in a right awful comedy of errors, totally dramatic, but gets through in her own way in a man's world.

It's wedding season on Nantucket. The beautiful island is overrun with summer people - an annual source of aggravation for year-round residents. As Chief of Police Ed Kapenash digs into the best man, the maid of honor, the groom's famous mystery novelist mother, and even a member of his own family, the chief discovers that every wedding is a minefield - and no couple is perfect.

Good Beach Read
Revisado: 07-08-20
I have been enjoying Elin Hilderbrand's books for light but deep digging summer / vacation reads.
This story was interesting because there was a murder, so there was an ominous tone to it, however it was once again all on the sunny island of Nantucket. The characters were interesting and have potential. I think some of them came across as card board stereotypes. At times the main character - Celeste - seemed like a blank slate upon whom one could just insert themselves, but she does redeem herself. The last few pages of the book redeemed it in terms of story telling.
I hate asking for a sequel, but I think a sequel would be interesting.

Heed Graphic Warning for this one
Revisado: 02-13-20
very gruesome, graphic, detailed, disturbing imagery of rape and mental illness. So be warned.
that being said, the book was captivating from a psychological perspective, with suspense and adrenaline, however it was very tragic and PTSD causing to those who may have experienced something similar.

Love these short stories. It's a bit confusing as to which year these take place but it makes sense once you do your own research. Really good performance, and just really enjoyable to get lost in the worlds of Geralt of Rivia.

Historia
If you want to change the world, start off by making your bed. On May 17, 2014, Admiral William H. McRaven addressed the graduating class of the University of Texas at Austin on their Commencement day. Taking inspiration from the university's slogan, "What starts here changes the world," he shared the ten principles he learned during Navy Seal training that helped him overcome challenges not only in his training and long Naval career, but also throughout his life; and he explained how anyone can use these basic lessons to change themselves - and the world - for the better.

Surprisingly enjoyable and warm
Revisado: 01-20-20
This book starts off pretty pretentious and continues to be so as it chronicles the lives of a semi posh family. In then continues to get so annoying, and "first world problems" type. Then it gets better, and it is sweet, and heartwarming in the end. Also loved reading about Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. This book is really not my type, but it ended up being an enjoyable read, with a happy ending all tied up with a bow.
The narrator was unbearable other than on 2x speed.

Cliched giddiness romance disguised as thriller
Revisado: 01-16-20
Cliched Giddiness, but still thrilling like a roller-coaster you've ridden many times.
So this was such a predictable run in the cold snow ... but also just random fun to read. It's not the best book I've read, but I did enjoy the simple language and the very predictable characters. This is a romance disguised as a mystery thriller in classic Sandra Brown fashion.

If you love all things Witcher....
Revisado: 01-14-20
** spoiler alert **
If you love all things Witcher, or are a new Witcher fan, especially if you want clarity on the Witcher series this is the perfect place to start. This book is a collection of short stories... adapted by Netflix as the first season of The Witcher. Well written, and really great narration.
I have heard there were bad reviews on the books, due to bad translation? I dunno maybe the Polish version is far superior, however this was superior than other books, imho.
I am not sure about the Voice of Reason chapters, they were a bit confusing, until the titular line in the very last story, If you are still confused about the timeline, this book helps, also found this website: https://witcher.fandom.com/wiki/The_L...
and... which I LOVE because it has a map, and timeline:
https://www.witchernetflix.com/en-gb
If you are a Witcher fan - the game, the show... read this book. You will love it more!
