Fascinating and enlightening. This is one of those books that make you better, educated, happier, confident and much more if you read this with a very open mind. Perel offers great insight into human desire -- for love, sex, connection, space -- and how we tend to thwart the very intimacy we crave by applying judgement to our desires. I haven't read a better reason to be hopeful that long term relationships can maintain, even increase, passion and desire than this.

I am so impressed with this book and this author. I was recently diagnosed with severe osteoporosis at age 64, and everything in this book rings true to me - gut issues, pH imbalances, hormone disruption, etc.... I have researched so many approaches to healing and nutrition. I even tried the Keto diet and it just didn't work with my digestive system - now I know why. This is a much more balanced approach and makes so much sense. It's not a "diet" - it's all about rebalancing - about giving your body what it needs to rebalance itself. I am so grateful to you, Dr.Kotb, for your generous work and inspiration - and for honoring mother nature and the innate healing power of the human body. Well done!

This book was recommended by our fertility specialist. I learned a surprising amount about foods that impact fertility. For example- low fat/skim milk products- terrible, avoid as much as possible!

This book provides you with a breadth of knowledge about how to get your digestive tract back on track in a natural way. Dr. Kotb does a great job of explaining the concepts in an easy to understand manner. I just completed my detox and after only 3 days I started to notice changes in the form of better digestion. Even if you don’t do the full detox, this book has a bunch of great recipes that can help get you consuming more natural and nutrient dense foods. I’d highly recommend this book to anyone and will be gifting it to my family and friends.

written by someone who has lived low carb for 15 years, has desert, appetizer, main dish, side dish, comfort food and even doughnut holes. No wheat only almond flour. No gluten added like most low carb books. Most of the pages have full page color pictures of dishes. Some great ideas, my family who doesn't eat low carb loves dinners made, they don't even know it is low carb....Highly recommend, favorite low carb book of my library...

I've been doing the Gluten Free and Casein Free diet for my son for a couple of months now and decided to get this book to help myself and my family members understand the reasoning behind the diet; the importance of doing it correctly by reading the label's ingredients and understanding what you are reading, avoiding cross-contamination, etc. I learned so much from this book. It gave me the knowledge of not just how to to the diet, but why I am doing the diet which is extremely important. I was very overwhelmed when I first started my son on the diet. I thought he would starve and lose foods as he already had such a limiting diet, to begin with. Dr. Kotb addresses all of these concerns with understanding and compassion. he really did his research for this book! It's a must-read for anyone considering or doing the diet. With every page I read, I felt more and more confident with the diet.

By the time I finished the book the second time - the Audible version this time, I was ready to give up alcohol. Unlike past efforts where I might be inspired to dump any alcohol we had or some other gesture like that - this time I just let it sit, and it was fine because I don't WANT it any more. I went to a local pub about a week ago while waiting for my kids to finish up an evening activity, and I didn't miss ordering a drink at all - something that should have been a major trigger was now not one at all.

That's about the highest praise that I can give the book - it worked for me, and I haven't had, or wanted a drink in about 2 weeks now. I feel better, my weight is coming down (slowly, darnit!), and I no longer go through that cycle of regret every morning that gets so tiring!

I STRONGLY recommend the book - especially the Audible version. Listen to it on the way to and from work each day. If it doesn't quite sink in the first time, then give it a month, and listen to it again. Eventually it'll work for you too!

If you're new to this high blood pressure thing like me, you NEED this book. It has been so informative describing what it's all about and what you can do about it. The first several chapters helped me to learn and understand what I need to know to take better care of my health. The recipes are easy to execute, heathful without being bland, and are sure to make your numbers move.

I made the Salmon and Asparagus in Foil (pg. 96) and the Brown Rice with Asparagus and Walnuts (pg. 135). Check out my pic! I'll be the first to admit I'm not a very good cook, but it came out pretty good and was filling. I didn't have walnuts for the rice so I used slivered almonds, and I used the same bunch of asparagus for the fish and the rice. I also made the Steak Dijon with Green Beans (pg. 121). I used a 1 lb. slab of sirloin insteak of flank steak and cooked it up in an iron skillet. That was a good quick dinner for two.

Each recipe is prefaced with a short paragraph talking about the dish and giving further information about particular ingredients, i.e., what's good about it and why. It's a great way to keep learning all throughout the book, especially at the time that you are actually using the food or spice.

I'm glad that this book is helping me transition to this new phase of my life. I send my thanks to the author - yes, you did help one person. Thank you. A recommended buy.
