Narration Makes This Book
Revisado: 04-23-24
This was a “heavy” read for me, and not sure I would have made it through if not for the superb narration that created characters of flesh and blood, and a story I truly came to care about.

Historia
Maps have a mysterious hold over us. Whether ancient, crumbling parchments or generated by Google, maps tell us things we want to know, not only about our current location or where we are going but about the world in general. And yet, when it comes to geo-politics, much of what we are told is generated by analysts and other experts who have neglected to refer to a map of the place in question.

Non-fiction at its best
Revisado: 08-04-20
As much as I love history, my eyes tend to glaze over with a flat narration. Scott Brick’s reading kept my interest even when geopolitics became complicated and entwined. I appreciate how well the book is organized and therefore relatively easy to follow. I will be recommending this book to all my reader friends.

Historia
A small Georgia town erupts in panic when a young college professor is found brutally mutilated in the local diner. But it's only when town pediatrician and coroner Sara Linton does the autopsy that the full extent of the killer's twisted work becomes clear. Sara's ex-husband, Police Chief Jeffrey Tolliver, leads the investigation - a trail of terror that grows increasingly macabre when another local woman is found crucified a few days later.

Decent summer read
Revisado: 08-15-18
Although I found the story interesting enough to finish, there really was too much graphic violence and soap opera type drama for my taste, or to recommend it to my reader friends.

Very entertaining
Revisado: 01-31-18
Entertaining and well-developed characters, plausible plot, and an excellent performance by Marguerite Gavin. A great little read for this rainy/snowy Eastern Seaboard bipolar weather day. I lived in Alaska for 10 years and found the story and characters authentic. I’ll be reading more of this author.
