Historia
Nadia Williams needs somewhere peaceful to sort through her grief after her mother is brutally murdered. She finds a cozy cabin at the side of a tranquil lake in the quaint town of Misted Pines in the Pacific Northwest. The minute she arrives, she knows it’s perfect. The very night of her arrival, however, someone—or something—is scratching at her window. The next morning, she meets her one and only neighbor, Doc Riggs. He’s a rough, good-time guy who rubs Nadia wrong immediately. They clash, and neither of them are happy to be sharing their lake.

It was almost “unlisten-to-able”!!
Revisado: 09-03-24
The story was fine. Nothing spectacular and not really even suspenseful… I’m really not even sure why I finished it. The male narrator was HORRIBLE!!! I don’t think I’ve ever put a narrator on a “do not listen” list… but I started one just for this guy. I hate to say that, but he ruined this book. If I was the rights owner I would have it re-recorded. Every single line was so hard, & harsh, & dramatic. Just terrible.

Longer than it needed to be.
Revisado: 06-05-23
It was a decent story. Convoluted and far fetched, which I can deal with, but would have preferred it come together a bit cleaner. I would have also preferred a different ending.

Historia
Photographer Isla Wilson is thrilled she's landed her dream job, but the clients who hired her are getting stranger by the day. It sounded so perfect—a month's assignment at the lush Scottish Highlands property of architect Alban McGregor, and his wife, Jessica. But in the woods, there's a playhouse with a chilling history. Two years ago, the McGregors' daughter Elodie was abducted and then died in that playhouse. The townspeople insist her abductor had to be a stranger in their town. Alban refuses to knock the playhouse down, even keeping a picture of it on his wall.

Faaaaaaarrrrrr Fetched!!
Revisado: 12-18-22
I am fully willing to suspend full reality to bring a plot together. When you need big plot twists, sometimes they’re unbelievable. This, however… this is so convoluted and unrealistic it was hard to finish. I don’t want to ruin it for anyone, you just have to see for your self I suppose.

I wanted SO much more…
Revisado: 10-20-22
“It Ends With Us” was a book I will never forget. It left me emotionally drained - but in the best way. I get that people wanted more of this story… to see how it ended, but this was so, BLAH! Some mix of YA and Harlequin, especially with this narration. They made the cheese even cheesier. I am a fan of Hoover, but sad to say, just not her best.

The perfect neighborhood can be the perfect place to hide… Who wouldn’t want to live in Brighton Hills? This exclusive community on the Oregon coast is the perfect mix of luxury and natural beauty. Stunning houses nestle beneath mighty Douglas firs, and lush backyards roll down to the lakefront. It’s the kind of place where neighbors look out for one another. Sometimes a little too closely…

Where did Imogen Church go?
Revisado: 09-26-22
The story is good. The narration is infuriating!!! What’s crazy, is that I have listened to MANY novels narrated by Imogen Church. She is phenomenal. I can only assume it is the attempt to have an American accent. Note to rights holder: If you need two accents, hire two narrators!! This was painful and did Ms. Church no justice!!

Slept through most of it…
Revisado: 07-13-22
It’s not the worst book ever, but it is the epitome of “less is more”. It was WAAAAAY too long and WAAAAY too convoluted, and WAAAAY too much like Gone Girl. If you’ve got several hours to kill and don’t fall asleep easily, give it a try. The narration is mostly good (except for the male narrators Tennessee accent, which is more Old South Georgia or S. Carolina than middle TN).

Historia
From the outside, my marriage to Zach was perfect: a dream home, a perfect baby girl, and passionate, all-consuming love. But as I cradle my gorgeous baby, I have to accept that the husband who used to be my everything has changed. At first, it was little things: expecting me to keep to a strict schedule, picking out my clothes for me. Now, he controls every aspect of my life: from how much money I have, to when I leave the house, and who I can see. I know deep down, only one of us will make it out of this marriage alive.

Some glaring plot holes
Revisado: 07-02-22
I’m not sure how I feel about this book. It was interesting and mostly held my attention, but there were some things that I really need more information about. The husband for example… there was not one single likable thing about him. There are multiple references to how he used to “not be this way”. Well, then when/why/how did he change SO MUCH that he is loath-able!? Just an annoying detail, IMO.

Historia
Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better? In The Midnight Library, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision.

Puts things in perspective!
Revisado: 05-03-22
I very much enjoyed this story and the narration was superb. I’ve been blessed to ever feel the desire or need to end my life… but I know far too many do. I’m not so idealistic as to think would change the mind of someone in such a dark place, but it certainly would be amazing if it helped even one person hold on! It is most decidedly a very interesting look at our lives and what we think we want. I am better for having listened.
