Required handbook for every Manager
Revisado: 08-10-20
I enjoyed every line and advice in this book. Julie hits to the heart of what managing people is all about. With actionable examples, she describes her experience through different phases of her career from individual contributor, Manager of a small team and Leader of a large group.

Historia
In this stunning audiobook, Malcolm Gladwell takes us on an intellectual journey through the world of "outliers" - the best and the brightest, the most famous, and the most successful. He asks the question: What makes high-achievers different? His answer is that we pay too much attention to what successful people are like, and too little attention to where they are from: That is, their culture, their family, their generation, and the idiosyncratic experiences of their upbringing.

First audiobook I listened to twice. That says a lot. Great story with a beautiful execution by the author himself. Highly recommend.

This book grew out of a series of letters to my daughter concerning various things - mostly about money and investing - she was not yet quite ready to hear. Since money is the single most powerful tool we have for navigating this complex world we've created, understanding it is critical.

Money tips I will pass on to my own kids
Revisado: 06-18-18
I wish I had read this book seven (7) yrs ago when a co-worker of mine recommended VIX as my first investment.
I threw some money into VIX and saw my investment depreciate as the economy soared. Needless to say, I never recovered from it. After a few years of VIX, I took my losses and moved on.
For those not familiar with VIX, VIX = Fear index = betting against the market. :-(
My second adventure with investing was DRIP (Dividend Reinvestment Plan). I invested in DRIPs for over four (4) years and picked decent stocks. However, most of my gains went toward FEES (transfer d’argent fee, set up fee, ongoing investment fee, batch sale fee,… ). I got frustrated after a while and through hours of reading, digging, podcast listening, I came across Index Investing.
This book breaks down index investing to a few simple steps and puts passive investing at eye level.
I have been trying to put together a collection of notes about my experience with investing as well as money tips to pass on to my kids. JL Collins nailed it in “The Simple Path to Wealth”.
Thanks Uncle Jim
