This book lays out the mind-boggling potential of Elon Musks many companies and what is almost more amazing is how all these achievements seem almost inevitable. I wish they would have used a different narrator though. The one they used is terrible: robotic delivery and super-nasal voice, kinda like a foreigner pretending to be an American "tough guy".

The book is ok, covers aspects of Elon Musk's insane drive to excel, but the narrator is simply awful. In fact, the cadence & pronunciation is so bad at times that it sounds like a computer-generated voice. Plus the accent is extremely nasal. I was annoyed & it detracted from the book. I wish Randy Kirk would read it himself - he has quite a nice voice & is a good storyteller (he has great YouTube channel!)

The book is cobbled together haphazardly and the audio book repeated a chapter for some reason (listening hands free on Bluetooth). Beside that technical glitch, the book does also repeat itself unnecessarily, probably bc each author wrote his own piece and then it was just smooshed together & rushed through production. Larry Winget sounds like Hank Hill (which I would normally count as a good thing) but while he claims that he wants men to stand up against the insanity of this world, he then proceeds to describe a man conforming slavishly to worldly ideals. His manner is as a contrived "tough love, straight talker". Cliché & unhelpful. He seems proud of himself & claims credit for the quote "do what you say you will do, when you say & how you say". Not a deep thinker to say the least. Chris Widener claims to be a Christian but nonetheless pushes a non-Biblical, worldly ideal of a "man" & very PC tells everyone to go deeper in their "faith pursuit". Maybe instead of reading one new book a month, Chris should read his Bible where he will learn about a fairly central figure in Christianity who declared "I am the Way, the Truth & the Life. None shall come to the Father but by Me". The principles outlined in the book have at least the resemblance of truth to them, but really it's not any huge revelation nor worth the time and I think it still diverts men down a destructive, worldly path.

The narrator. Pauses. Awkwardly. In every. Sentence. The sound quality is tinny and you hear something clanking in the background. Beside this the whole book paraphrases extensively from the Bible without citing it (but praises Buddha of course) and enticingly tells the listener "you are your own creator". At it again, serpent? Thou shalt not surely die but shall be as gods, huh? Build your foundation on the Rock, not on this sinking sand.

A very good reading of the KJV. There are a few technical errors where the reader pauses & starts a verse over but otherwise the reading is great.

A classic that everyone should read (or hear). It depicts the dreary horror of life in a Soviet gulag. It isn't exactly a story of hope & light but the sheer ingenuity & dogged persistence of the prisoners under the harsh conditions does inspire admiration. It also puts in perspective the struggles we face today while simultaneously warning us about the end result of socialist government of any stripe. The reading is ok(it annoys me when they mispronounce Russian words & names) but the audio quality varies, with obvious post edits & muffled audio periodically.

This is supposed to be a history of Julius Caesar's famed 10th Legion, but for large parts it reads like any other history of Rome. The first half is just a retelling of Caesar's conquests. The author gets pulled into the minutiae of various conflicts and political maneuverings and it distracts from the story. Halfway through I had forgotten that it was supposed to be about the 10th. It vaguely returns to a focus on the 10th after Caesar's assassination (spoiler alert haha) but again gets lost in discussing the overall history. The book doesn't even discuss how legions were raised, equipped and trained until the end of the book. That would have been better to have at the beginning. The book also somewhat follows the legionnaire who became the head centurion but only in bits. It would be better to write the history solely from the perspective of the fighting men of the 10th, using as many identifiable individual legionnaires as possible - using inference would be needed as there are probably very few historical records. It's a fine book but doesn't provide much more than any other history of Rome and Caesar.

An entertaining and insightful as to how it might be to hear devils scheming about capturing souls. A short listen that is well worth it. Remember though to focus on the true, the beautiful and the just in daily life. The adversary is there but our victory lies in Jesus Christ so follow Him!

I had always thought CS Lewis to be some titan & pillar of Christian thought standing bravely against the rising tide of secularism based on the assessments of various pundits. However, as he goes on and on about the fallibility of the scriptures I realize CS Lewis is more aptly compared to RINOs who implement the same socialist, anti-God policies of the Left, only piecemeal and at a slower pace. The book is not entirely without use as it provides the clearsighted Christian a glimpse into how our parents and grandparents were fooled into dismantling the godly society that was America (and yet still may be). The fallacies and tricks that worked when Lewis wrote this dont work on today's dedicated Christian becausr we have seen their end result. Lewis may not have been intentionally using these tricks but may rather have been under their spell himself. Take this book as a warning and insight rather than as inspiration.

Vox Day weaves a spellbinding tale of war, intrigue, honor and betrayal in a world that mixes elements of the Roman legions, medieval knights, Viking lords and a Tolkienesque world of orcs, goblins, dragons, wizards and mysterious evil spirits. I found it hard to pull myself away from the 31+ hour audio book, and it left me eager for the next book.
