while the language is obviously from the time of when it was composed, this book is HILARIOUS! I loved listening to how very similar humans are now as they were then, just in a different location with various differing accoutrement. it is a joy to listen to and a fast read!

I tried to stretch it out, I really did! But I couldn't help listening at any spare moment I had because the series is just too good! I have to wait for... omg! basically forever (November 2022) for the last book and I may die of anticipation lol. can't wait to see how this saga ends.

the main character is awful...

I have been trying to read this book for years and honestly I just cannot finish it. The main character, Tessa, is so selfish and literally bring the entire story down. The story's premise is one that could be wonderfully playful and fun but Tessa makes it tedious and completely cringey. Tessa could have been such an awesome and relatable character, instead she is annoying and self centered/dimwitted.
The narration was fine but yeah the story just let's you down thanks to the main character.

I really enjoyed the story and the performer was able to paint the whole thing beautifully! I was whisked away to a magical world with characters that were endearing and unique. Absolutely cannot wait for the next book!
