Historia
Between his work on the 2014 Audible Audiobook of the Year, Hamlet, Prince of Denmark: A Novel, and his performance of Classic Love Poems, narrator Richard Armitage ( The Hobbit, Hannibal) has quickly become a listener favorite. Now, in this defining performance of Charles Dickens' classic David Copperfield, Armitage lends his unique voice and interpretation, truly inhabiting each character and bringing real energy to the life of one of Dickens' most famous characters.

Historia
C. S. Lewis' Ransom Trilogy, better known as "the Space Trilogy", is a much-neglected and yet critically important part of Lewis's works. It has captivated and bewildered readers and listeners since its publication, and though hundreds of books about Lewis have been written, few seek to navigate the maze that is Lewis' "space-travel story". These books are a distillation in novel form of one of Lewis' favorite subjects, a subject whose melody is woven into almost everything that Lewis ever wrote: the medieval model of the cosmos.

Informative Inspiration
Revisado: 07-15-21
I felt deeply inspired by the Ransom Trilogy all over again through this listen. It is a great treasure for understanding Lewis' source material and arguments. The book offered new thoughts in ways I didn't expect coming. This is EXACTLY what I have been looking for -- inspiring, meaningful and all surrounding some of my favorite books.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Just Plain Fun
Revisado: 06-20-21
OK so how can an end of the world scenario be fun? I don't know the exact recipe but it's something like 3 parts wry humor, 2 parts geeky fun science stuff, and 1 part quick, snappy dialogue. It also had great speed in plot progression. Oh and definately a hopeful worldview on humanity.
Weir achieved something wonderful here and the reader's preformace greatly amplified the hilarity of internal dialogue from our protagonist. I was just so sad when it ended because it was over! More please?

Historia
When a high-ranking officer gallops into the quiet Mistyvales, he brings a warning that shakes the countryfolk to their roots. But for Aedan, a scruffy young adventurer with veins full of fire and a head full of ideas, this officer is not what he seems. The events that follow propel Aedan on a journey that only the foolhardy or desperate would risk, leading him to the gates of the nation's royal academy - a whole world of secrets in itself. But this is only the beginning of his discoveries.

A Real Epic
Revisado: 03-08-17
Although it took some time for me to warm up to this book, now after having finished it I just want to listen to it all over again!
The story unfolds into an epic and unveils deeper levels of the fantasy aspect slowly. If you want a fully constructed magic system unveiled early on, more like a Patrick Rothfuss, then this may not be for you. But if you are willing to be patient, the wait is worth it. Although, don't expect the kind of explained magics like in some of Brandon Sanderson's or Rothfuss's books.
For me, the closest comparison of this book would be to C.S. Lewis. The wonder of strange creatures and the leaning to use fantasy to express deep truths in Lewis's writing is also found here. If you like Narnia or Lewis's Space Trilogy then you will probably like this as well.
Content wise, it does contain some violence in battle and abuse situations. It does not contain any sexual content or language.
