Historia
In the late 19th century, as humans came to realize that our rapidly industrializing and globalizing societies were driving other animal species to extinction, a movement to protect and conserve them was born. In Beloved Beasts, acclaimed science journalist Michelle Nijhuis traces the movement's history: from early battles to save charismatic species such as the American bison and bald eagle to today's global effort to defend life on a larger scale.

Great Overview and history
Revisado: 03-01-22
This book is exactly what I was looking for. It shares the history of conservation while providing a wide education on what balance there must be to maintain our animal population. It is well written. Well read. This is a fantastic read that I feel should be shared.

Fantastic
Revisado: 01-11-22
This series just keeps getting better. I love how Asher drops hints as he tells the story of how the world came to be such a mess without just outright saying it. Watching the kids grow into adults all too fast as they put the pieces together of the past and fight to save each other has me so invested in this series I absolutely cannot wait for what is next.

Historia
According to The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch (the world's only completely accurate book of prophecies, written in 1655, before she exploded), the world will end on a Saturday. Next Saturday, in fact. Just before dinner. So the armies of Good and Evil are amassing, Atlantis is rising, frogs are falling, tempers are flaring. Everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan.

amazing as always
Revisado: 10-15-21
Jacob and Alice are out to change their world. Each using their own style of smarts to push for a better life. This journey just keeps getting more interesting. I am absolutely on the edge of my seat each time they get those gliders out.
Asher really throws us a bone after taking away a beloved mentor several books ago by sneaking in a long lost member of the tinker's guild and really letting his presence linger and influence the other characters. I love a brilliant and eccentric genius especially one that we already know so much about.
I'm really looking forward to more of this journey.

Almost like coming home
Revisado: 08-29-21
With the exception of the loss of the original narrator, listening to this has been just like coming home to old friends. It is a little ironic that now that Damien has been through so much he now sounds younger, but overall the new narrator is great.
The story! it is so nice to have a "run of the mill" monster for the parts of this marry band to come together and fix mixed with the usual levity that comes with Damien being back in the main story. They have been though so much with all of the novellas each getting their own moment to shine, and here we are seeing them reaping the fruit of their labor and having their friend back.
The Vesik universe has grown quite large and while not every character got to be highlighted in this book, the writer makes a nod at some point to each and everyone of them to let us all know they are still there, still safe, living their own lives, just waiting their turn to come back around once Damien is all settled in his new home.
The closing of this novel absolutely warmed my heart to see this band of friends, forged into family, sitting around and eating and drinking as family does simply to enjoy each other's company and relish in the good times because you know in the Vesik verse there is always something just around the next corner.

Fantastic
Revisado: 02-10-21
What more could you ask for? Your favorite series with the absolute best narrative all rolled into one download. I never imagined I'd have such a fantastic tribute to the late William Dufris in one spot.
Vesik is like coming home to a group of your best friends. We'll maybe not quite as every story seems to have some giant disaster but the friend part is true. No matter the circumstances they pull through, together.
Monsters? you want Monsters? Vesik has some monumentally Earth ending monster's, and sometimes they are friendly.
Asher has always done a wonderful job balancing horor with humor and I am tickled to get to have this audiobook marathon of one of my favorite series to enjoy.

Five minutes after discovering she had a Godfather, she learned that the future of the world depended on the two of them taking an immediate road trip.
