Historia
In the midst of long-held secrets, extramarital affairs, and addictions, a supernatural force visits the small community of Holly and awakens hearts that were once threatened by destruction. The trials of life chose their victims at random. Lies knew no boundaries. And neither did the grace of God. An unseen presence pursued the resurrection of the dead and the sight of the blind. Local pastor, Dylan Vanberg, battles his own torment as he comes to realize the power of grace while the town newspaper reporter, Jackson Sawyer, begins to understand the power of words.

Not really about porches.
Revisado: 07-08-24
I have a fascination with the American front porch. The title and cover photo are deceiving. It is just the last line in the book. Not a bad book, but it wasn’t riveting.

Historia
Brooklyn, 1947: In the midst of a blizzard, in a two-family brownstone, two babies are born minutes apart to two women. They are sisters by marriage, with an impenetrable bond forged before and during that dramatic night; but as the years progress, small cracks start to appear, and their once deep friendship begins to unravel. No one knows why, and no one can stop it. One misguided choice; one moment of tragedy. Heartbreak wars with happiness and almost but not quite wins.

Listened to all of it, but it didn’t really grab my interest.

The book wasn’t bad, just predictable. I wouldn’t really waste a credit on it. I am typically drawn to stories mid century in NY, but this just didn’t hit the mark for me. Not like Brooklyn.
