Historia
Clan of the Cave Bear is the first novel in Jean M. Auel's magnificent best-selling epic of life 35,000 years ago. Leave the 21st century and go back to Ice Age Europe. Follow Ayla, a Cro-Magnon child who loses her parents in an earthquake and is adopted by a tribe of Neanderthal, the Clan. See how the Clan's wary suspicion is gradually transformed into acceptance of this girl, so different from them, under the guidance of its medicine woman, Iza, and its wise holy man, Creb.

If you could sum up The Clan of the Cave Bear in three words, what would they be?
i read these books when I was a teenager and was looking forward to hearing them again. There is a version that I found online but the narrator was terrible! Reading like she was reading a recipe book. This narrator was very good and I enjoyed the story just as much the second time round.

Historia
The Poisonwood Bible is a story told by the wife and four daughters of Nathan Price, a fierce, evangelical Baptist who takes his family and mission to the Belgian Congo in 1959. They carry with them everything they believe they will need from home, but soon find that all of it - from garden seeds to Scripture - is calamitously transformed on African soil. What follows is a suspenseful epic of one family’s tragic undoing and remarkable reconstruction over the course of three decades in postcolonial Africa.

Would you listen to The Poisonwood Bible again? Why?
the narrator was excellent, the story was spellbinding. I would recommend this book to any person for its tales of humanity and honest. it was one of the best books I've ever "read", having not been a big fan of novels before this I am definitely interested in reading more of her work.

Historia
"A religious fundamentalist, a political operative, a primitive sermonizer, and an accomplice of worldly secular powers. Her mission has always been of this kind. The irony is that she has never been able to induce anybody to believe her. It is past time that she was duly honored and taken at her word." Among his many books, perhaps none have sparked more outrage than The Missionary Position, Christopher Hitchens's meticulous study of the life and deeds of Mother Teresa.

i had never read a Ken Follett book but this was on sale for $5 so i got it. it was a fun listen and the voice actor was great. but at least I now know this type of genre is not for me! this is what i understand to be a paperback novel? if you know what i mean

Excellent science, irritating narrator
Revisado: 07-28-14
I'm biased because I really dislike narrators with American accents and far prefer listening to the author read their own work. I found the narrator really grating on the ears. But the science and content of the book is excellent, as expected from Bloom who did an amazing MOOC on Coursera on morality (which led me to read the book)
