Historia
Harriet and Wyn have been the perfect couple since they met in college—they go together like salt and pepper, honey and tea, lobster and rolls. Except, now—for reasons they’re still not discussing—they don’t. They broke up five months ago. And still haven’t told their best friends.

I dunno…
Revisado: 05-31-23
I kept going back to it and eventually finished- I think I just wanted to get it over with though. There just seemed to be too much tedium and too much angst. Issues that could’ve been resolved with actual basic conversation- and some plot choices that just were too far out there and seemed made to reach a perfect and dramatic ending, rather than for character development. I know this book was a departure for the author and some of it worked.. and some did not. I liked the characters and enjoyed the relationships.

I loved the character development and the angst! It was just fabulous! Lillian was a wonderfully written heroine.

Heroine is THE WORST
Revisado: 04-16-21
Temple did not get the heroine he deserves! She knowingly framed him for years and still displayed selfishness and idiocy throughout the entire story. I saw no reason why he would fall in love with her or why we should root for it! This one was a let down, especially after how great Cross and Pippa’s story was.

Historia
When Sophie, the least interesting of the Talbot sisters, lands her philandering brother-in-law backside first in a goldfish pond in front of all society, she becomes the target of very public aristocratic scorn. Her only choice is to flee London, vowing to start a new life far from the aristocracy. Unfortunately, the carriage in which she stows away isn't saving her from ruin. It's filled with it.

One of her best!
Revisado: 04-08-21
This story kept moving constantly- never dull and never slow! The characters of both King and Sophie were likable and well developed. This might be my favorite Sarah MacLean book yet! My only suggestion is to read this series in order. I skipped this one at first and read the next two books before it. I wish I’d read in order to really enjoy these characters.

Not the best, but entertaining
Revisado: 04-05-21
I found this story entertaining- especially the art and scandal storyline. The relationship between the characters seemed to happen with very little build up or foundation though.

Historia
Bold, impulsive, and a magnet for trouble, Juliana Fiori is no simpering English miss. She refuses to play by society's rules: She speaks her mind, cares nothing for the approval of the ton, and can throw a punch with remarkable accuracy. Her scandalous nature makes her a favorite subject of London's most practiced gossips...and precisely the kind of woman the duke of Leighton wants far far away from him.

Awful narration
Revisado: 04-01-21
I can’t stand when narrators take loud gasping breaths while they read. It becomes all I can hear. Also, the Italian accent is almost like a parody of what a comedian would do mocking an Italian accent. The narrator for the first in the series was perfect and it’s hard to hear characters one has grown to truly like be portrayed this way. I can’t even speak to the story because I hated the reading of it.

Just ok
Revisado: 03-19-21
Alleyne was possibly my favorite of the siblings and had such potential for a great story. Rachel just seemed to be so negative and complained all the time until towards the end of the story when she became bearable. It was also a bummer that his true personality wasn’t displayed in this story. Balogh is still a wonderful storyteller and narration was amazing, as always. Just a bit of a let down.

Teetered out
Revisado: 02-28-21
Narration as always was amazing but I felt like Elizabeth and Colin’s story could’ve been one of my favorites had it not lost some of its luster and dragged on towards the end. Overall I loved the characters and narration.
