I got chills!
Revisado: 12-21-21
R. A. Lewis has done it again! This novella covers a very key backstory in her Valdir Chronicles series. Short but sweet and quite racy at times, definitely give this one a listen!

Historia
Kalina is a nobody, an orphan whose only remarkable trait is the silver hair she is forced to hide. But when she overhears that she might be a child of the Valdir, a silver-haired race of dragon riders that disappeared 16 years ago, she chooses to leave her old life behind and venture into the unknown to discover who she is and where the dragons disappeared to.

Perfect introduction to the series
Revisado: 12-02-20
RA Lewis sets the scene wonderfully in this first volume of her Valdir Chronicles. The characters are well thought out and the story is easy to follow. Plenty of action, but also important world building that introduces us to Kalina and her friends (and enemies!) and the all important dragons. The Abbey, the castle, the cities and towns and Wastes in between, not to mention the mountain home of the Valdir! Ms DeVault is an excellent narrator as well, even pace and volume which are important for me as an avid audiobook fan, and she uses different accents for different characters which I always enjoy. I only wish these had been written 20 years ago - 14 year old me would absolutely love this universe! I can't wait for the next one to be released!
