The female narrator 😤

The female narrator was sooooo blah! She just literally read the lines...that's it! I tried slowing the speed up, then slowing the speed down... nothing worked! And the voice she used for the male was the exact same! I couldn't tell if it was the FMC or the MMC who was supposed to be talking! So frustrating!

The most idiotic bunch of girls ever!

I'm sorry...these girls were a bunch of naive entitled idiots. Jason clarke is literally the only thing that saved this book. Their plan was to rob the mafia and build a school for...and I quote " bad-ass girls". 🙄 Juliet was by far the worse, she thought she was mafia and a killer when she had never been either in her life, her "Dad" was the head of one of the mafia's but she was never involved at ALL... she seemed to think that was all she needed.🙄 I don't know if Jason Clarke is going to be enough to finish this series and I love him and Eva Winners both but these women...and I use that term lightly,...are so annoying and they all supposed to attend Yale...yep, you heard me Yale!🙄 They were the most annoying, immature, entitled bunch of theives. How will I go on!😞 Definitely not looking forward to Juliets story...again she is the worst of the four. I dont think I can...sorry Eva and Jason.🥺

Im sorry, I loved this entire books series BUT Ava was my least favorite FMC of this ENTIRE book series! She was reckless, fake, annoying, petty, needy and vengeful! Just whatever horrible characteristics you can think of...she had! I know she suffered from mental illness, but she didnt want to do anything to help herself...she was sooooo freaking ANNOYING! I know he didnt have the best personality but he wasn't her. She was a complete train wreck as a partner...and yes Im going to say it...I thought Eli was a better person and partner than Ava was! And she was this horrible person to him all because....wait for it...he broke her heart at 17!🙄 When all he did initially was told her he wasn't interested until she jumped him and kissed him, then he got angry and was a bit of an a$$hole to her! But seriously all of this because you got rejected...talk about vain! I could not stand her in this book...I can not count how many times I rolled my eyes at her petty childish acts! I could barely stand her & that didnt change the entire book...I might have tolerated her closer to the end...but just BARELY!

She had to be the MOST ANNOYING female lead character this author has ever written! I thought I was not going to be able to finish the book. I definitely dont know if I can do a part two! Ugh! Her character ruined it!

Where is Joe???

I'm literally up to chapter 10 with Joe Arden barely having any narration??? I don't get the reviews for this because the female version of the male narration is horrible! She makes him sound like he's a dirty old man when he is supposed to be this hot young Professor!🙄 I mean seriously, if the book is going to go on like this...it will be returned! I'm gonna try to keep going but so far, I have been forcing myself because the reviews were so good! If I have to eat my words & change my review I will, but so far it's not looking like that's gonna be necessary! Note to these authors/audible: A lot of women read Romance novels so if you think we want to hear ALL the steamy parts read by a woman...you are sadly mistaken....WE DO NOT!!! OR at least I don't! I hate it when the audible version does that!🙄

First of all...the story was great and the narrators were excellent! But I do have to say Natalia did get on my nerves a LOT in this book. Her unwavering loyalty and devotion to Diego and every word he spoke was absolutely ANNOYING! I get that she is young and naive and in love so I'm going to attribute her annoyance to that but hopefully in book 2 we will get less of that because OMG...I truly wanted to strangle her sometimes. I'm hoping in book 2 her eyes are more open and she can stop constantly blaming Cristiano for everything wrong in her life and in Mexico! Great work Jessica Hawkins!

What Can I Say???

Lauren Rowe...you saved the best for last (dreaded using the word last)...Reed Rivers narrated by Jacob Morgan was pure perfection! Now what do we do? Is it over??? It can't be over! The Morgan clan and their extended family...is this the end??? I have been trying to figure out who could be next...will we get the rest of the members of 22 Goats or the rest of Red Cart Riot??? Lauren Rowe...this should never end!

WHY???

One of the draws to this series was John Lane!!! WHY? WHY? WHY? ...Why Would you change up now with the LAST book in the series ? The one I was anticipating the most. This female narrator is okay but the male narrator was HORRIBLE! With this very annoying long breath at the end of EVERY sentence he spoke! Ugh! Why do you authors do this??? Love you Karina Halle but this was a tragic end to such a great audio series. Good thing the audible version was free with my kindle unlimited subscription but even with it being FREE it was still a DNF for me! For all you authors out there, a BAD narrator can RUIN your book so please be more selective when you are hiring these narrators! Karina Halle...I hope you are reading this...if John Lane was unavailable for book 3 at the moment you should have waited until he was...TRUST me we wouldn't have minded at ALL!!!

Annoyed with the female H? Oh just me?...Ok.

I like the story overall and the narrators were great but that Emma character was so annoying with her cat over obsession, penny pinching and grilling about a women that the male character Marcus actually had ONE date with. I sorta understood her reasoning for the "mooching" and got used to her as the story went on but I did walk away still feeling like she was really annoying! Marcus and both the narrators were lovely! I'm going to get the second book and hopefully Emma grows on me more!

The Narrator Maybe??

I'm not sure if it was the actual character or the portrayal of the character but the female in this novel was ABSOLUTELY ANNOYING! I am trying to give Lia Langola the benefit of the doubt and say that it was the actual character and the way she was written...but I just kept waiting for the female chapters to end throughout the entire book. I love Penelope Sky and was not a fan when she started to use Natalie Eaton as her female narrator (I loved when she used Samantha Cooke), so I just stopped buying her audiobooks. I have listed to Lia before and I have liked her before so naturally when I saw her name I got excited again and jumped at the opportunity to use my credit to purchase this book, but was disappointed all over again. I really can't be sure if it's just that this character was just THAT annoying or if Lia just annoyingly/over-performed her...either way this was my least favorite of her female characters out of all her female leads. Sorry, but maybe you can figure out whether it's the character or the narrator...enter at your own risk!
