awesome production

As with the previous books... the overall production (Ie. combination of good voice acting and music / background sound) makes for a great experience. Worth every penny!

For generations, everything has been getting faster, better, and cheaper. Finally, we reached the point that almost anything you could ever want could be sent to your home within days - even hours - of when you decided you wanted it. America made that happen, but now America has lost interest in keeping it going.

The best book to read if you just want to learn how the world works in general. I've learned so much about society, geopolitics, economics (which I am not one who could've spoken about in any degree prior to listening to this book) and numerous other parts of our race. It does so all the while talking about our past, present, and future. One of my favorite listens across all genres and a MUST for anyone interested in the world and how it works.

Historia
Since the halcyon days of the Great Crusade, these noble rogue trader dynasties have plied the void in the Emperor’s name, answering to whomsoever sits as the king of the Davamir Compact. There has been profit and adventure and abundance in these times… Yet now the galaxy is changed, divided by the birth of the Great Rift. As plans are drawn up for the most immense crusade imaginable, the Emperor’s reborn son demands that the Compact seek a way across the Rift.

Something different
Revisado: 12-30-22
You don't really hear about the rogue traders much, much less have a book written about them. Void King does just that and it's interesting to learn about how their houses began, the writ of trade, and get an idea of just how powerful of an entity a rogue trader and his retinue can be.

Well paced, great characters, and a plot that spans a lot of the things that make 40k's deep lore great! Definitely worthy of the title of one of 40k's must read books!

Historia
Before the being called the Emperor revealed himself, before the rise of the aeldari, before the necrontyr traded their flesh for immortal metal, the world was born in violence. Even when they inhabited bodies of flesh, Trazyn the Infinite and Orikan the Diviner were polar opposites. Trazyn, a collector of historical oddities, presides over a gallery full of the most dangerous artefacts - and people - of the galactic past. Orikan, a chronomancer without peer, draws zodiacs that predict and manipulate the future.

Millennia of Trickery and Hilarity
Revisado: 03-22-21
An absolute need to read, one that follows the rivalry of two amazing Necron characters over millennia of travels on the planet of Solemnace. As someone who has stuck primarily to the books that follow the loyalist humans and their exploits, this book was a fun break from the norm. The rivalry between the book's two protagonists is amazing, and I wish I could go into more detail about how it's pettiness has a massive impact on this planet and it's history, but I encourage y'all instead to enjoy it for yourself.

Historia
The Third Option is a plea on behalf of a brokenhearted God who, scripture teaches, is frustrated with those of us who claim to believe in him but are really “faking the faith”. McPherson argues that we must rise above the issues that divide us and be part of something bigger. The Third Option challenges both believers and seekers to fully embrace God’s goodness and power. McPherson believes that instead of choosing one of two sides, there is a third option - one that’s proven to bring people together, mend relationships, and promote genuine peace in communities.

By far the best narrative on this subject.
Revisado: 12-20-20
A fair and accessible listen into a major issue plaguing us here in America. This was my favorite book into the issue however, as Miles writes it in such a way that it isn't intimidating, is fair, and instantly applicable to our lives. Instead of simply educating the reader / listener to the issues that have and still plague us today, Miles suggests ways we can try to better ourselves, both internally and externally, to pursue the third option. I will be recommending this book to others without a doubt.

In So You Want to Talk About Race, Ijeoma Oluo offers a contemporary, accessible take on the racial landscape in America, addressing head-on such issues as privilege, police brutality, intersectionality, micro-aggressions, the Black Lives Matter movement, and the "N" word. Perfectly positioned to bridge the gap between people of color and white Americans struggling with race complexities, Oluo answers the questions listeners don't dare ask and explains the concepts that continue to elude everyday Americans.

A good read for anyone who wishes to learn more
Revisado: 11-02-20
As someone who grew up their entire life overseas, I didn't think I had a racist bone in my body. Furthermore, I always looked at race issues in America (big picture wise) as being for the most part over. However, as I learned more by talking to friends and watching the news, and my current job in law enforcement, I felt the need to better familiarize myself with what I was quickly learning wasn't as "over" as I had initially thought it was. Listening to the author describe areas of my life where I had been unintentionally and subconsciously believing or supporting racist thoughts was an eye opening experience. I credit this book with making me more aware of how I can support the communities of color that I might police in any given day. It's important to note that while I also didn't always agree with what the author wrote, I still would completely encourage anyone (even those of y'all who like me thought they "didn't have a racist bone in their body") to listen / read this book, if only to have an opportunity to set aside what you think is true about yourself for two seconds and have a hard inner monologue about how you can better support the people of color in your lives as well.

Another great look into the tough job facing a Probator in the 40k universe. The author's writing of the books setting adds to the enjoyment and Simeon's background in one of the noble houses gives us a look into an area of society that doesn't get a lot of coverage... Had to be one of my favorite 40k books.
