Historia
The Galahad, a faster-than-light spacecraft, carries 50 scientists and engineers on a mission to prepare Kepler 452b, Earth's nearest habitable neighbor at 1400 light years away. With Earth no longer habitable and the Mars colony slowly failing, they are humanity's best hope. After 10 years in a failed cryogenic bed - body asleep, mind awake - William Chanokh's torture comes to an end as the fog clears, the hatch opens, and his friend and fellow hacker, Tom, greets him...by stabbing a screwdriver into his heart. This is the first time William dies.

weird blatant misogyny
Revisado: 05-19-21
this author clearly hates women. every female character is both an object of extreme lust and also a source of betrayal and danger. the protagonist is portrayed as deeply in love with a woman who he barely interacts with and wants nothing to do with him, yet it's an act of major betrayal when it's discovered she's with someone else. he makes himself a perfect female companion, and it turns evil and tries to kill him. even an ai therapist is sexualized. I couldn't even finish it. Maybe an interesting plot idea but Jesus dude get therapy.

Historia
We know the universe had a beginning. With the Big Bang, it expanded from a state of unimaginable density to an all-encompassing cosmic fireball to a simmering fluid of matter and energy, laying down the seeds for everything from black holes to one rocky planet orbiting a star near the edge of a spiral galaxy that happened to develop life as we know it. But what happens to the universe at the end of the story? And what does it mean for us now?

the end of the universe is very relaxing.
Revisado: 04-23-21
it took me most of the book to realize what was so soothing about this book and reading. it's that katie mack has so much love for her subject matter, but she also has a love for her audience. this didn't feel like a windy terrible doomsday from an unreachable academic. it felt like a fascinating conversation with a good friend over coffee about an existential subject matter. absolutely fascinating 10/10 highly recommend.

Historia
Kismet Knight, a brainy Denver-based psychologist with a stalled career and a nonexistent love life, is about to have her world rocked. Not only does her newest client, Midnight, long to become a vampire, but the teenager insists that a coven of the undead hangs out at a local Goth club. The always-rational Kismet dismisses Midnight's claims as the delusions of an attention-starved girl - until bodies start turning up drained of blood, and the self-proclaimed "hottest" vampire ever to walk the face of the earth enters her office. What's real? What's not?

a great reas
Revisado: 03-20-21
This series is so much fun. Lynda Hilburn adds a huge amount of authenticity to the psychiatrist character Kismet. It's a well written story that has a great time playing with sexy spooky characters, and puts a playful spin on the a usually serious genre. this book always puts me in a great mood. highly recommend!
