Perfection
Revisado: 03-19-24
This was perfection. Have read the book then listened to the audible. The authors voice brings the story to life in a splendid way and you can immerse yourself fully in the story.

Historia
In June 2021, the whole world was listening as Britney Spears spoke in open court. The impact of sharing her voice—her truth—was undeniable, and it changed the course of her life and the lives of countless others. The Woman in Me reveals for the first time her incredible journey—and the strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history. Written with remarkable candor and humor, Spears’s groundbreaking book illuminates the enduring power of music and love—and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms, at last.

Woman in Me
Revisado: 11-15-23
If you are looking for a memoir that spills the tea this is the one. She name drops with receipts in good and the bad. This was a very touching story and I really feel a better understand of Britney Spears. There’s a special place in death for those that mistreat others and I believe her redemption will come only then. This woman has been through the fire and come out as a diamond. If she chooses to never perform again it’s her CHOICE. I wish her nothing but the best in love, life, and peace.

Historia
Copeland Cane V, the child who fell outta Colored People Time and into America, is a fugitive. He is also just a regular teenager coming up in a terrifying world. A slightly eccentric, flip-phone loving kid with analog tendencies and a sideline hustling sneakers, the boundaries of Copeland’s life are demarcated from the jump by urban toxicity, an educational apparatus with confounding intentions, and a police state that has merged with media conglomerates - the highly rated Insurgency Alert Desk that surveils and harasses his neighborhood in the name of anti-terrorism.

Audible is the way to go
Revisado: 10-20-23
Audible is definitely the way to go with this one! I was given this book as part of a book tour happening over on Instagram. It reminded me of just of Chain Gang All Stars for 2 reasons the speed of the story is a slow build, and it is very dystopian. The audible brought this one to life for me and saved this book from a bad review. All the issues the book addresses are relevant and are ongoing issues in America. The characters each have their own stories but Copelands stand out. Why do these things continue to happen to our black youth today? What do we need to address this? After reading this per usual I’m heartbroken and no real resolve. If you love Chain Gang or Boyz in the Hood, or Dear Martin you are sure to love this one as well.

What did I just read
Revisado: 04-22-23
I started reading this one and then had to switch to audible due to time limit for a book club. I’m so glad I did. The voices and acting are amazing. So many emotions experienced during this performance. This is a very well written and thought out story. I love a story that twists and turns, but comes together rather beautifully in the end. Bravo !!! I will definitely be reading more by this author .

Historia
Motherhood isn’t easy, especially when you’re a mother of a Black son. Ten years ago, Cheryl jumped at the chance to send her son, Javonte, to an exclusive boarding school in New England - far away from Atlanta and the violence of the city streets. It was the American dream, or was it? Now settled in Vermont, Javonte is married and well-employed, but Cheryl hardly ever sees him, and when she does, her own son seems like someone she only used to know.
