Historia
Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

Stephen King Is Back
Revisado: 04-10-23
Loved this book. This is the kind of book you expect from Stephen King. I hated to put the book down and looked forward to finishing it. It's suspenseful with tsome horror thrown in. I won't say too much, I don't want to give anything away. I would recommend this bool to anyone who likes the way Stephen King wrote before he got too political.

Historia
In December 2017 the famous porn star August Ames committed suicide in a park in the Conejo Valley. It happened a day after she’d been the victim of a pile-on, via Twitter, by fellow porn professionals - punishment for her tweeting something deemed homophobic. A month later, August’s husband, Kevin, connected with Jon Ronson to tell the story of how Twitter bullying killed his wife. What neither Kevin nor Ronson realized was that Ronson would soon hear rumors and secrets hinting at a very different story - something mysterious and unexpected and terrible.

Bullying
Revisado: 04-10-19
This is to Jon Ronson and all the others involved with the tweets. It may not seem like bullying, but when you have many people attacking something you stated as your opinion IT IS bullying. We have become a society where it is not okay to say how you feel about a situation unless it goes along with everyone's opinion.

Historia
Set in the 1970s in a run-down, rainy, industrial town, Jo Nesbo's Macbeth centers around a police force struggling to shed an incessant drug problem. Duncan, chief of police, is idealistic and visionary, a dream to the townspeople but a nightmare for criminals. The drug trade is ruled by two drug lords, one of whom - a master of manipulation named Hecate - has connections with the highest in power and plans to use them to get his way.

Starts Slow
Revisado: 04-23-18
Who was your favorite character and why?
Duff was a great character, because of the transformation he went through. I didn't like him at first and later liked him very much.
What about Euan Morton’s performance did you like?
Love the narrator.
Any additional comments?
This book started out slow for me, there were times my mind wandered and I had to go back and re-listen. After the first couple of chapters I was hooked. I really enjoyed this book! I would suggest it. But, if you're expecting a character like Harry Hole, there isn't one.

Historia
Dixie Shanahan had a terribly troubled and abusive marriage in the sleepy little town of Defiance, Iowa. Then one summer day in 2002, Dixie's mean and wicked husband was gone. Some of the local residents presumed that Scott packed his bags and left town. But others were skeptical. After all, Scott's brown Ford pick-up truck was still parked in his driveway. The disappearance mystified Defiance for more than a year. Then in late October, 2003, the truth emerged - or did it?

Hard to Follow
Revisado: 03-28-18
What would have made Dixie's Last Stand better?
It would have been nice to have some background info on Dixie and Scott before going into
there marriage.
Has Dixie's Last Stand turned you off from other books in this genre?
No
What three words best describe Dave Wright’s performance?
He has a great voice. Need work on his female voice or best not to try accents.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Not really
Any additional comments?
This book was just boring. It needed something to get your attention from the start and keep it. Also the little alarms when starting a new chapter could just be one small ding.

Historia
Oslo in November. The first snow of the season has fallen. A boy named Jonas wakes in the night to find his mother gone. Out his window, in the cold moonlight, he sees the snowman that inexplicably appeared in the yard earlier in the day. Around its neck is his mother’s pink scarf. Hole suspects a link between a menacing letter he’s received and the disappearance of Jonas’s mother - and of perhaps a dozen other women, all of whom went missing on the day of a first snowfall. As his investigation deepens, something else emerges: he is becoming a pawn....

Suspenseful

I liked the book. Not sure if it’s because I listened to the audible version, but I had difficulty following it. May try to listen again.
I would recommend this book.
