Historia
Widely hailed as a spiritual classic, this inspirational and unfailingly powerful story reveals the life and visions of the Lakota healer Nicholas Black Elk (1863–1950) and the tragic history of his Sioux people during the epic closing decades of the Old West. In 1930, the aging Black Elk met a kindred spirit, the famed poet, writer, and critic John G. Neihardt (1881–1973) on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota.

Historia
The first edition, published in 2007, won a James Beard Award. Now updated with newly discovered recipes and historical information, this updated edition includes the origins of the first American drink, the mint julep (which Wondrich places before the American Revolution) and those of the cocktail itself. It also provides more detail about 19th-century spirits, many new and colorful anecdotes and details about Thomas' life, and a number of particularly notable, delicious, and influential cocktails not covered in the original edition.

Unbelievably well done!
Revisado: 06-06-19
This is an awesome history of Jerry Thomas and cocktails. The author and narrator seem to really connect as you felt as they were the same story teller. The book provides history, antidotes and best of all booze! The only wish / suggestion I would have is that the narrator would read the recipe for each drink and not just refer to the PDF. I would have liked to hear about the drink then though my ears let my mind and palate connect on each of the drinks. It sort of left me thirsty! Other than that fun book to read / listen too.

Another great read/listen
Revisado: 02-02-19
What can you say.... Dan Brown can capture the imagination with his ability to crest color and texture in his writing. You can almost hear and smell as he describes the surroundings... your heartbeat races with the intensity of the story as it peaks! Wow! And Paul Michael he is Robert Langdon. The best voice in Audible. Thank you sir for your narration.

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Straight forward approach
Revisado: 06-24-17
If you like the F word like I do it is an easy read/listen. If you are offended easily it might be a pass. I've been working on my focus on what matters so I have read this book and essentialism back to back! They get to a very similar conclusion with two unique perspectives. I enjoyed this read as it is very pragmatic view. Essentialism is a bit more academic and recommend reading the back to back like I did!

Essentialism is more than a time-management strategy or a productivity technique. It is a systematic discipline for discerning what is absolutely essential, then eliminating everything that is not, so we can make the highest possible contribution toward the things that really matter.
