Common sense, not a theory
Revisado: 02-22-25
I don’t get the hype. This feels like common sense to me. Too much, “I’m going to tell you how,” and “I’ll show you how this theory will,” rather than just actually explaining.

Historia
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Harry’s Persepective
Revisado: 03-04-23
As someone who has never really followed the Royal family, I thought Harry’s memoir to be well-written, interesting, and sad. I understand that this is just his take on events and his memories, but my heart aches for the entire family. It did drive me a little crazy that the chapters were so short and seemed to end in the middle of a story every time…

Historia
Many smart students reach a point where they feel overwhelmed and stressed out. As their grades drop, so does their self-esteem, and this combination of external and internal pressures can seem insurmountable. To make matters worse, students feel unable to ask for or accept help. In The Disintegrating Student, Jeannine Jannot, PhD, draws on her decades of experience as a school psychologist, educator, and student coach to explain the reasons for this increasingly common phenomenon.

Parent of an Adolescent? Read this book!
Revisado: 06-25-22
I read this as professional development for my secondary school as the college counselor. Not surprisingly, as an educator, I already knew most of the issues that our adolescents are struggling with; however, all I could think as I listened, was that every other friend of mine who’s a parent should read this book! I walked away with so many tips for my adolescent and pre-adolescent children that I plan to implement. I also continually thought, yes! I’m not doing a half-bad job at this parenting thing! as I listened. So that was nice. 😉
