Brilliant Writer or Little Troll?
Revisado: 03-20-25
This little man reaped what he sewed. He had an overblown ego that needed to be squashed long ago. The books was pretty much boring listening to the "Poor Me" about all the characters. I would not spend the money to listen to this book. Although this narrator is great!

I don’t need religion
Revisado: 08-21-23
The book started out bad. I don’t care about all your fan mail. Pat yourself on the back somewhere else. Then when the preaching started that was it. Keep your religion to yourself. This book is supposed to be about decluttering and organizing, not religion. What a disappointment this book is.

Captivating story. Reality Slap!
Revisado: 01-13-23
I had never heard anything about the author's dependency issues. Heart breaking realization that sometimes people just don't get better on the first, second, third, and so on attempt at sobriety. Also the multiple addictions that a person can have. He does seem to put the "blame" on a plane ride as a child, which I think is probably just one tiny episode that set it into play. Matthew wanted to be "accepted" when he really needed to accept himself, flaws included. The story is a bit long. Toward the end I was finding myself very depressed that there was not going to be any epiphany or words of wisdom However the ending was excellent. Not a feel good story but a story about not giving up and learning to live and live with our shortfalls.

Historia
It was a bleak November in 2012 when Cari Lea Farver vanished from Omaha, Nebraska. Cari, 37, was a devoted mother, reliable employee, and loyal friend - not the type to shirk responsibilities, abandon her son, and run off on an adventure while her dying father took his last breaths. Yet, the many texts from her phone indicated she had done just that. While Cari's boyfriend, Dave Kroupa, and her supervisor were bewildered by her abrupt disappearance, they accepted the texts at face value. Her mother, Nancy Raney, however, was alarmed and reported Cari missing.

Revisado: 01-13-23
Narrator is less appealing than the typical YouTube computer voice! Tried to listen to the story, then she attempts at doing the voice of Dave. It's awful. I feel like I'm at story time at the local library.

Incredible Story. You can feel her emotion.
Revisado: 10-01-22
I initially bought this audio book because a friend of mine had a brain injury as well and I want to understand what they are living through. This book gives so much more. I've always been a big fan of Sharon Stone. Her acting is wonderful as well as her philanthropy. I really had no idea how much she does rather than just giving money. She's down on the ground working and getting involved with people. She feels true responsibility to help others. She wants to make a difference. She also goes into all the roadblocks that philanthropy deals with that make no sense at all.
I'm not sure why women want to act. The abuse and expectations that these women have lived with for so many decades is shameful. Harvey Weinstein is only a single symptom of this plaque. Sharon does her best to change things for the better and keep her dignity. She never takes the easy way. I shudder to think of the women that give into these predators.
The heart break that Sharon has endured would have killed most of us emotionally but she finds strength that gives her spiritual side power. Its human loss that she experience. Monetary losses are nothing.

Inspiring story of real life.
Revisado: 09-21-22
I have always admired the talent of Trever Noah. This book is one more reason to admire him as a person. The odds were against him but through the love of a mother who didn’t always have the right answers, did the best she could. Trever found a love for her sacrifices and methods when things couldn’t get any worse. A friend once told me, “As a mother of sons it is my job to teach them to be good husbands”. Unknowingly this is what Trevor’s Mother did for him. I have no doubt he will be a good husband. His mothers job will then be a true life well lived.

Historia
This work presents the first in-depth look at how this "girl next door" became one of Manson's "girls". It also tells about Karlene Faith's 30-year friendship with Leslie van Houten, whom she met while teaching in prison. To everyone who encountered Leslie - including prison staff and television journalists - she was not the demon typically portrayed by the media but rather a gentle, generous spirit who mourned her victims. But why didn't this intelligent young woman see the evil in the "messiah" who had sexually exploited her and ordered her to murder?

Excellent Story. Leslie needs to be freed.
Revisado: 06-14-22
I've followed the Manson Murders for many many years. My friends are fascinated and a little unnerved about my knowledge of this case. It's time to let these woman out of prison. Ironically they let out Squeaky who is probably more dangerous than any of them even though she didn't participate in the murders but would have given the chance.
Leslie and Pat are truly remorseful and have spent their time in prison positively. Leslie has had only one minor violation and Pat has had none. We spend a fortune keeping them in prison when they are of no danger.
I am 59 and am in no way the same person I was when I was 20 years old, nor are these people. The families that have lost family members are almost all deceased now and those that are still protesting their release didn't even know the people they murdered. Time for forgiveness that is deserved.

Compelling Story. MUST READ!!
Revisado: 06-14-22
This was such and interesting story from the very first word. I could feel my blood pressure rising every time I think of those horrible people (they are not human) getting away with what they have done to American's. They decimated families and literally murdered people for money and got away with it. They needed to be left with nothing more than a single wide trailer in the deep South where they appreciate "Pretty Mouths". It really opened my eyes to the dangers of big Pharma and that these companies need to be broken up and regulated so they can't even buy a paperclip without an investigation and are never allowed to make political donations or pay lobbyists.
