Historia
Aubry Tourvel, a stubborn nine-year-old girl, comes across a wooden puzzle ball on her walk home from school. She tosses it over the fence, only to find it in her backpack that evening. Days later, at the family dinner table, she starts to bleed to death. When medical treatment only makes her worse, she flees to the outskirts of the city, where she realizes that it is this very act of movement that keeps her alive. So begins her lifelong journey on the run from her condition, which won’t allow her to stay anywhere for longer than a few days—nor return to a place where she’s already been.

One credit left find
Revisado: 04-11-24
I had one credit left and I couldnt decide on what to get so i went and just searched for books narrated by Saskia, who is far and above my favorite narrator. This like her other performances i've listened pulled me into this world. This really blended a lot of things together for me but i enjoyed it. Lots of things going on that are never really fully explained though but i'm ok with that. It provokes thinking and opens up conversation.

i liked the story but i'll buy the physical books
Revisado: 03-05-24
I really liked this, i was recommended the Repairman Jack series from a friend who likes the same things that I do for the most part. It kept my intrest the entire time but everytime he did the voice for Vicky i wanted to stop the book and never hear that squeal ever again. It really turned off the story for me over and over again.

Revisado: 02-20-24
I got this because I'd heard Saskia narrate a different book and she is so amazing I wanted to listen to more of her. I love historical fiction so this seemed to be a great fit. I enjoyed the entire story and would recommend to anyone.

i'm neutral on this
Revisado: 01-25-24
I don't have any complaints or good things to say here, its an intresting story, I just didn't connect with anyone during it that fully invested me into the story. I do love historical fiction so thats what drew me to this the most, i dont regret listening to it, but I don't have enough to recommend it to someone else.

enjoyable
Revisado: 01-09-24
I enjoyed this book, i related to the journey of trying to leave a part of your life behind while trying to find a way out. Not to the depth of this story but it let me have a connection to the main character and her different alias/chapters of her life. I'd recommend this book, its not what i typically read/listen to but it was a great palent cleanser while I was looking for something back in my wheel house. Also Saskia was amazing in her performance of this book.

I like the show, i love the books, getting inside Joe's head is just facinating to me. Eventually just like all the others its has to end but I don't want that to happen anytime soon.

Historia
It's 1994, and three stand-up comedians have embarked on a tour of smaller communities across a remote stretch of rural countryside. Dale is a forty-something comic from Chicago who's on the back half of a mediocre career and thinking about quitting the business. Rynn is a twenty-something fast-rising comedy star from Dublin with a big Hollywood break on her horizon. The third performer is a local act, a late addition to the bill who has agreed to open the shows and do all the driving. He goes by the name Hobie Huge, and he is, indeed, enormous.
