if you're going to try to mimic an accent, you should at least try find an authentic accent to copy. It was like listening to nails scratching a blackboard. Would have been better to just read with no accent.

Disappointed

Kirsten Potter is one of my favorite narrators. She does a fantastic job with those Boston accents. The storyline had no surprises for me. I knew who the killer was about halfway through. if I were Tess Gerritsen I would not have wanted my name on this book.

This is the John Corey I love....back in Suffolk county

My only complaint is the book was over before i was ready to say goodbye. Favorite Corey book since The Lion's Game. Whether you are a first time reader of Demille or have followed detective Corey from Plum Island this is a great book!

I really love this format tess gerritsen uses telling two stories simultaneously and blending into the mystery. if you liked Vanish you should listen to this one too.

Summary of book is misleading

I really struggled to get to the end of this book. The summary lead me to believe the two main characters would be involved in a case together investigating and plotting a prosecution. While there were quite a few humorous scenes in the book, I was very disappointed. This book is not a mystery/thriller. I can only assume from the author's forward that he planned to write a legal or mystery thriller after this book using the characters he outlined here. Unfortunately I was so bored by the mundane details that the characters didn't have much depth

Worst narration. Book is very good, but the narrating by Maria Bello is horrible. Almost no emotion and many times felt like she was "talking down to the listener".

Love having the Russians back!

How I have missed the days with the Russian/Soviet characters in spy novels. This book kept me thoroughly entertained and was reminiscent of a great Robert Ludlum book. Russian spies are so much more interesting than the middle eastern bad guys in most current books. Recommend this book highly, wishing the author had another book on Audible!

Puller is a great character - I want more

As usual, Baldacci does not disappoint.His characters always leave me wanting the next in the series. Can't wait for the next Puller book.

Story line was interesting, but SLOW moving

Would you try another book from John Gilstrap and/or Jeremy Gage?

The plot was a good one and the story was interesting, however the writing lacked some element to make the story flow smoothly. I was interested enough in the story to keep listening, but found myself bored with what seemed like never ending repetitiveness that served no purpose but to lengthen the book.

For once, I thought an abridged version might have been a better choice. I'll probably try another book from John Gilstrap as I like the characters.

Liked the narrator, but found story lacking

I was bored by the characters and found them to be a poor copy of other fictional characters with similar positions, a police psychologist and a grouchy detective.
