Historia
For the last 100,000 years, we Sapiens have accumulated enormous power. But despite all our discoveries, inventions, and conquests, we now find ourselves in an existential crisis. The world is on the verge of ecological collapse. Misinformation abounds. And we are rushing headlong into the age of AI—a new information network that threatens to annihilate us. For all that we have accomplished, why are we so self-destructive? Nexus looks through the long lens of human history to consider how the flow of information has shaped us, and our world.

Revisado: 02-04-25
The “pot calling the kettle black” is an idiom that best describes this book. Yuval’s gaslighting is getting a little long in the tooth at this point.
The audience should remember that the author is a WEF contributor and speaker that tells his own stories to further global governance through technocracies.

Predictive Programming
Revisado: 05-29-24
Another apocalyptic hors d’oeuvre added to the cornucopia of possible dystopian futures.
Let us hope this predictive programming remains fiction instead of an alternative to 1984 or Brave New World.

Historia
The world outside has grown toxic, the view of it limited, talk of it forbidden. The remnants of humanity live underground in a single silo. But there are always those who hope, who dream. These are the dangerous people, the residents who infect others with their optimism. Their punishment is simple. They are given the very thing they want: They are allowed to go outside.

Behold the orphan. Born into a world that is not a world. A digital being grown from a mind seed, a genderless cybernetic citizen in a vast network of probes, satellites, and servers knitting the Solar System into one scape, from the outer planets to the fiery surface of the Sun. Since the Introdus in the 21st century, humanity has reconfigured itself drastically. Most chose immortality, joining the polises to become conscious software.

Historia
In the beginning was the loan, and the loan carried interest. For at least five millennia people have been borrowing and lending at interest. Yet as capitalism became established from the late Middle Ages onwards, denunciations of interest were tempered because interest was a necessary reward for lenders to part with their capital. And interest performs many other vital functions: it encourages people to save; enables them to place a value on precious assets, such as houses and all manner of financial securities; and allows us to price risk.

Bitcoin is the Price of Time
Revisado: 08-09-23
Edward Chancellor can be forgiven for his nescience on Bitcoin which he conflates with the overall crypto Ponzi market. Bitcoin stands alone as digital liberty which embodies true price discovery in the Digital Age.
The Price of Time is a worthy read despite committing the sin of pluralism against a nascent disruptive technology known specifically as Bitcoin.
The price of time is now Bitcoin in an age when central banks arbitrarily determine interest rates by fiat.

Historia
Once the Sith order teemed with followers. But their rivalries divided them in endless battles for supremacy - until one dark lord at last united the Sith in the quest to enslave the galaxy and exterminate the Jedi. Yet it would fall to another, far more powerful than the entire Brotherhood of Darkness, to ultimately realize the full potential of the Sith, and wield the awesome power of the dark side as never before.

One of the best SW books ever produced.
Revisado: 10-28-17
Path of Destruction humanizes characters of the Dark Side affording readers a palatable emotional investment in the antihero. The dynamism, passion, and practicality of the dark side is juxtaposed to a stagnant and inflexible Light Side ideology; not unlike the prominent religions that flourish today.
If properly produced, a live action film could rival any SW movie today.
Well done Drew Karpyshyn

Historia
On the planet Tython, the ancient Je’daii order was founded. And at the feet of its wise Masters, Lanoree Brock learned the mysteries and methods of the Force - and found her calling as one of its most powerful disciples. But as strongly as the Force flowed within Lanoree and her parents, it remained absent in her brother, who grew to despise and shun the Je’daii, and whose training in its ancient ways ended in tragedy. Now, from her solitary life as a Ranger keeping order across the galaxy, Lanoree has been summoned by the Je’daii Council on a matter of utmost urgency.

Battered Person Syndrome
Revisado: 07-18-13
What disappointed you about Into the Void: Star Wars?
I deplore reading about feeble Jedi in the Star Wars franchise; especially those who succumb to rock throwing on multiple occasions throughout the book. Their exploits become mundane and tedious to a reader who has experienced the likes of the Darth Bane Trilogies.
This book can be summed up to a devoid Jedi with "Battered Person Syndrome" having difficulty in dispatching an abusive and contemptuous sibling.
