What can I say but Tatum is a mess. She's all over the place, Maybe she could have some redeeming qualities had she gotten counseling and then maybe there's hope for a happy ending. I see divorce in the horizon because there's no communication between the two. She jumps to conclusions, ghosts him for weeks and then comes around to saying she's sorry, as if all is great and there's no need for communication. Not a sustainable relationship and I don't buy the love they say they have for each other.

Lost Interest in the Series.

The more books I read in the series, the more I dislike all the characters. I keep thinking that the characters will redeem themselves, but I end up disappointed. As for the antagonists, they die before there’s justice. Not satisfying. Not really intersted in the rest of the books in the series.

Not a fan of the back and forth from past and present. Very distracting and it interferes with the flow of the story. Setting of the small cottage life is charming. However, seems that too much time has gone by and Rosemunde is now in her forties and finally ending up with the right man.

Sweet Story

Sweet story. The only issue I have is the cliche double standard of the man having been with several women and the woman was either a virgin or been with only one other person long ago and it wasn’t good. Still, it’s alright for the man to be jealous or angry that she has been or would want to be with anyone else. Yet, the woman should understand that it’s okay for men to be with other women and it doesn’t matter how many. It’s very frustrating. It would be so refreshing that both of them were equally respectful, neither naive nor promiscuous. It really puts a damper on the whole story. This story could have been sweeter.

I Usually Like Second Chance Romances

Ellie seemed so mad at Ford but she gave in so easily. Portraits her as weak. Ford believes that he needs to earn her trust, but he dismisses her feelings. He’s arrogant and entitled that Ellie belongs to him. Hard for me to like either of them.

I wish the audio version included the man’s POV. It helps to feel the connection between the couple. It helps to hear that men are venerable, as well.

Not good

Trent was 40 and Grace is 36. He strung her along for decades. He doesn’t love her. He wants to possess her. He finally wanted to commit only when she starts dating someone else. Apparently, Trent had changed, but I’m not convinced. Ended this book feeling that the relationship is unhealthy. Don’t feel this is a happily ever after.

I wish Sydney was a stronger woman. Declan keeps stringing her along and she gives in. Love is when there’s respect for each other. Declan tells he loves Syd, tells her he doesn’t want to marry her and have kids and keeps after her. Weak.

Double Standard

This story would have been so much better if the men in the story had more respect for the women. Being over protective and thinking that no one is “good enough” for the sister or daughter makes the woman weak and the men imbeciles. Everyone loved Ethan because he is a hard worker and honorable until he starts dating Summer. At that point, Summer, has no brains to think for herself and Ethan suddenly undeserving. Couldn’t finish the book.
