Let me just say it is 2pm and I finished this book. When did I start? Approximately 10am. J.J. Smeck has begun to build a beautiful world with enticing characters throughout. Evie wakes up on what was supposed to be a life turning moment, turning 21 and learning her elemental abilities. Instead, she wakes up alone, imprisoned, and confused. Her journey from there takes her through many trials and man, this woman has soooo many things thrown at her already and I love how she is handling them. This book held so many of my favorite things: fae, elemental magic, and a little bit of spice (with the promise for more) 🔥 Thank you so much JJ Smeck for introducing me to your world. I can’t wait to read more!

I have been in love with these books since they first started filling shelves. I remember having my Mom drive my friends and me to the store first thing in the morning (as we were too young to drive) to purchase our long awaited next book. The magic of Harry Potter will always burn wildly in the depths of who I am and even still, at 31 years of age, these timeless stories still give me goosebumps while tears stream down my face. The Goblet of Fire is my favorite of the series (ok....... I love the Deathly Hallows too, probably a tie) and listening to the Jim Dale narration completely brought this book to life in its own magnificent way. Harry continues on his path to blossom as a wizard as he overcomes the challenges of the triwizard tournament. His friendships strengthen, he is constantly being tested and above all - he is in for the adventure of a lifetime. I love the character development. I love the writing. I love the story. I felt like I was watching the book play out as Michael Sheen brilliantly narrated a very engaging book. I absolutely loved it. I am curious if I will love it as much in print... he was that good.
