Historia
Just as archaeologist Georgia Lee grapples with the earth-shattering consequences of her last expedition in Taiwan, her life is once again thrown into chaos when she is called to examine an artifact containing vital clues to the undiscovered tomb of Genghis Khan, founder of the largest contiguous land empire in human history. What follows is a desperate race across the vast, infinite landscape of Mongolia to solve one of the greatest archaeological mysteries, and to thwart those who threaten to destroy the world as we know it.

Weird that Georgia is Australian but the narrator uses an American accent
Revisado: 04-15-25
Weird that Georgia is Australian but the narrator uses an American accent for everything. Why did they do that? I like the story, but the accent makes it feel inauthentic.

Historia
Auris’s adoptive sister Char has always been the baby of the family—a position that grates on Char, especially when everyone insists on telling her exactly what to do and how to do it. But Char is certain that her headstrong, impulsive behavior, the quality her family sees as her greatest weakness, is actually her greatest strength: the willingness to instantly brave danger and leap to the rescue when anyone she loves is threatened.

Just “eh”. Nothing special.
Revisado: 12-30-23
It was just “eh”, okay. Nothing special and by the end I just wanted it to be over so I could move onto a new book. Sadly disappointed in Terry Brooks with this series. It just lacked the gripping sense of wonder I was expecting. Some of the world was interested, but the spark just wasn’t there. This third book especially felt like a filler book that just checked some plot boxes.

Historia
Being an unwanted twin in the Imperial line of succession, Farilane became a scholar, adventurer, and in a time when reading was once more forbidden—a book hunter. Her singular obsession is finding the mythical Book of Brin, a tome not just lost but intentionally buried. Respected and beloved by the Teshlor Knights, not even their legendary skills can protect her for what she finds is more dangerous than what she sought.

Good story but didn’t like the ending
Revisado: 11-28-22
Good story but I didn’t like the ending. It was well written but I get annoyed when books end like that. That’s just a personal preference though.

Infuriatingly Stupid Lead Character
Revisado: 01-25-21
Overall story not bad but Evie, the main character, is so infuriatingly immature and stupid at every turn. Acts clueless over everything and somehow Luc still just loves her for no reason it seems.

Morgana is so frustratingly dumb!
Revisado: 12-18-20
Morgana is so slow to realize things so frustratingly obvious. Falls into every trap, ignores every red flag, misses every cue. Has the foresight of a child.
