A unique, tragic, defiant, heartwarming story!
Revisado: 04-16-25
Wonderful story! Tragic, defiant and heartwarming at times. Addie LeRue figured out how to make her mark in a world where she was forgotten as soon as she was out of sight. I liked how the story unwound between the present and the past and her patience and understanding and final twist at the end with the “dark”. Julia Whelan was as always a pleasure to listen to, definitely one of my top female narrators!

Wow, what a story!
Revisado: 02-26-25
Such an amazing author who has a way with words. His story telling is absolutely captivating and I felt really connected to his characters and their plights. A story of friendship, perseverance and love. Some great twists in the end that I didn’t expect. I absolutely will read this again some day. Highly recommend. Really can’t express how much I was drawn into their story. Kept listening to hear what was going to happen next. Will read his other book here on Audible soon. I believe both of them will be made into streaming series.

Parts of it were good
Revisado: 02-21-25
The story was pretty good but the romance part was corny and awkward and prudish. It didn’t seem realistic that an ER doc would be blushing over washing anyone’s body. The conversations between the protagonist and Caleb also felt school girlish. She talked a lot about “going back” but it was never discussed how that was even a possibility. I think with some editing it could have been better and less cringy.

Super boring until part 3
Revisado: 02-06-25
I loved Children of Time books 1 and 2 (haven’t read book 3 yet) so I picked up Alien Clay. Super un-impressed, kept waiting for something/anything to happen that was interesting. There was no suspense, just the same internal monologue for 2/3rds of the book. I sped it up to 1.2 just to slog through it. I did like part 3 but it was too little too late for me. Super disappointed.
I have Service Model and Cage of Souls in my wish list but now not sure about those.
The narrator was great though.

Historia
The Reaper is a legend, more myth than man: the savior of worlds, the leader of the Rising, the breaker of chains. But the Reaper is also Darrow, born of the red soil of Mars: a husband, a father, a friend. The worlds once needed the Reaper. But now they need Darrow. Because after the dark age will come a new age: of light, of victory, of hope.

Fantastic installment
Revisado: 01-28-25
This is the most epic sci-fi series I have had the pleasure of listening to. I actually went back and re-listened to the previous 5 books before this one. Put in the “work” but it was well worth it and enjoyable. Love Pierce Brown’s mind! He has such an amazing way of bringing to many disparate threads together in every book.

Lot of good plot twists
Revisado: 01-28-25
Really interesting story that takes place in the same world as John Marrs other books, The One and the Marriage Act. Initially I didn’t feel much of a connection to these different couples but as time went on I really got invested into their stories. Some of the twists really caught me off guard. Great listen! I will definitely get The One and The Marriage Act this year too.

Historia
After Lucy is found wandering the streets, covered in her best friend Savvy’s blood, everyone thinks she is a murderer. Lucy and Savvy were the golden girls of their small Texas town: pretty, smart, and enviable. Lucy married a dream guy with a big ring and an even bigger new home. Savvy was the social butterfly loved by all, and if you believe the rumors, especially popular with the men in town. It’s been years since that horrible night, a night Lucy can’t remember anything about, and she has since moved to LA and started a new life.

Good podcast style story
Revisado: 07-14-24
This was a good story, good listen. I enjoyed it and like the podcast style story. I wouldn’t say it was super exciting or suspenseful though which I prefer in a good murder mystery.

A great start to the series
Revisado: 04-27-24
I love A.G. Riddles books, my favorite being The Winter World Series. This one had a great start and I just downloaded book 2. If you want a rapid story this may not be for you, his books usually are a slow burn but unusually awesome twists come at the end.

Revisado: 04-12-24
I have read about this series so finally decided to start it. The first prequel was good and I’m on to the second prequel before starting the Omnibus of books 1-3.
R.C. Bray is fantastic and if you like this series you should listen to the Hell Divers series! Not zombies but mutants in a post apocalyptic world.

Historia
When Martha Einkorn fled her father’s isolated compound in Oregon, she never expected to find herself working for a powerful social media mogul hell-bent on controlling everything. Now, she’s surrounded by mega-rich companies designing private weather, predictive analytics, and covert weaponry, while spouting technological prophecy. Martha may have left the cult, but if the apocalyptic warnings in her father’s fox and rabbit sermon—once a parable to her—are starting to come true, how much future is actually left?

Clever, optimistic and great twist
Revisado: 02-23-24
Absolutely loved this book, even more so than The Power which I enjoyed a lot. Such a great writer, so many threads to bring together which was done well. Loved the parables with fox and rabbit and how it interweaves through the story. There is a twist in the last few hours which definitely surprised me! So clever! I am picking this as a book club pick and look forward to listening to it again.
I couldn’t figure out why this book had 4 stars until I read some of the reviews. For those people who gave up on it because of one gratuitous sex scene I would say they missed out on a fantastic story! After that one sex scene there aren’t anymore for those of you who cringe 😬 and it is put into the story I believe to show the intensity of the relationship (between the two women) and why and what comes after.
