Historia
Rorax Greywood lives in the Realms and was trained to fight, kill, and steal for the House of Ice’s special forces unit, the Heilstorms, from the time she was ten years old. During her time as a Heilstorm, Rorax committed more violent atrocities in the name of her House than she could ever remember, but the blackest stain on her soul remains the Siege of Surmalinn—an infiltration and near genocide in the largest House of Death city.

Incredible fantasy read!
Revisado: 04-30-25
Wow, Atonement of the Spine Cleaver is a wild ride. This is a richly layered fantasy with a complex world, evolving conflict, and high stakes.
I listened to the audiobook and absolutely loved it!
Rorax is a stunning example of a character shaped by manipulation and control—groomed to serve the Wolf without ever realizing there was another way. How could she know different when that was all she’d ever known?
But as she encounters new people who challenge her worldview, she begins to see the horrors she’s committed—and it’s nearly unbearable. Her journey of atonement is messy, painful, and incredibly compelling.
She wrestles with deep self-loathing and the weight of her past, especially as the House of Death makes no effort to hide their hatred for her. Still, with a pit war on the horizon, she and the House form a fragile, volatile alliance—held together only by her promise to help another win the Choosing and become the next Northern Guardian.
The tension in this book is excruciating at times. It’s very much an enemies-to-friends-to-lovers arc, and the more the House of Death learns about Rorax—about the trauma she survived and the person she’s trying to become—the more their perceptions begin to shift.
Rorax is such a powerful portrayal of what it looks like for a woman to be fierce, strong, and deadly, while still being vulnerable and emotional. She contains multitudes, and I adore her.
Rorax and Ayres have a rocky, tenuous relationship, but their chemistry crackles. Even when Ayres makes some big mistakes, I was rooting for their journey toward trust and connection.
The found family vibes here are strong, and I love every member—Jia, Cannon, Milla, Piers, Kaiya, Kiniera, Ye-Jun—each one brings something meaningful to the story.
There were a couple of plotlines that didn’t feel fully fleshed out, but honestly? I didn’t even care. The characters and their dynamics had me completely hooked.
I need book two. I want to learn more about Sumavari’s books, the conflict with Lyondrea, and most of all—I want to see Rorax claim her guardian powers and prove everyone wrong.

Historia
A week ago, the supernova Aeon detonated in the skies over Antarctica. Mass migrations of humanity and animal life began northward. Secondary bursts of ionizing radiation knocked out worldwide power grids. Global temperatures spiked. Oceans rose as seawater expanded and glaciers melted. Massive storms and acid rain scour the planet. The southern continent is literally melting under the feet of Dr. Xin Rhou as she is trapped at the South Pole, and she is perhaps the only person in the world with a full accounting of the data recorded when Aeon exploded.

Obsessed!
Revisado: 04-04-25
I’m absolutely obsessed with this story! The blend of water fae and humans living in Atlantis, alongside the presence of other elemental realms, felt incredibly unique. The magic system was compelling, and the political intrigue added rich layers to the plot. The looming threat of an ice age and the larger schemes unfolding behind the scenes have me completely hooked for what’s to come. 🧜🏼♀️🧜🏼♂️
Asherah and Draevyn have electric chemistry—but what really sets them apart is their commitment to open communication. It’s so refreshing to see a relationship built on mutual trust and honesty. Their dynamic feels mature, and it brings so much depth to their connection. 💙
The found family in Cathan, Dax, Aurelio, Myles, and Reneah is everything. Each of them brings something special to the story, and together, they create such a heartwarming, enriching presence.
I also loved the budding friendship between Asherah and Lux, especially as they bonded over their shared love for romance. The Fae Flings Bookstore sounds like an absolute dream—can I go there, please? 📚
I can’t wait for book two—I need to see where Asherah’s quest takes her next! With so much still unfolding, the stakes feel higher than ever. And fingers crossed we can finally say goodbye to Melysah, the absolute worst!

I should’ve known Lincoln Pierce was trouble from the moment I held my knife to his throat. I’ve been running for most of my life, hiding away in a small town and hoping no one discovers who I truly am. The only problem is that I can never let anyone know the real me. Or at least that was true until my brother moved his best friend onto our shared property. Now, I’m stuck trying to avoid the nosy billionaire’s probing questions and piercing stares. And it doesn’t help that I almost killed him the first time we met.

Still obsessed with Catherine Cowles. I absolutely adore the families she writes.
Arden and Linc’s story was beautiful. They had great chemistry, but I especially felt the deep emotional connection between them.
I also loved Arden’s close relationship with Lolly and how they bonded over their love of art and creative expression.
The Coleson crew is just simply the best, and I want to be part of their family too. 💜

Lovely debut!
Revisado: 03-17-25
What a lovely debut from K.M. Davidson! Darkness Comes Again introduces us to Reva, who leaves behind her sheltered life in Eldamain for the kingdom of Mariande, where she’s tasked with healing the young prince. Reva is an absolute delight—watching her step into a new world, uncover her potential, and fiercely protect those she loves was a joy. I can't wait to see how she fully comes into her powers! 😍
And Clint—oh, sweet, cheeky Clint. He completely stole my heart, and he better get a cure! Then there's Elly, whose brilliant mind makes her the ideal research partner (seriously, sign me up). I’m eager to see if Pax can overcome his prejudice and prove himself worthy of her. As for Fin? Swoon. He’s kind, funny, and undeniably attractive... but that last line of the book has me questioning where the romance is headed. 👀
The magic system and the history of the Magics and Sirians are incredibly intriguing, and I’m excited to unravel more of their secrets in book two. Davidson has crafted a world rich with adventure, mystery, and heart—bring on the next installment! 🖤

Great ending to Lara and Aren's story
Revisado: 03-07-25
Okay that was intense!!! I could not see how this story would end for Lara and Aren which was a nice change for me.
That back and forth, push and pull between them was torturoussssss, but I was pleased with how things ended.
Lara and her sisters are so badass. I loved them banding together through their feminine rage to strike back at their awful father.
That last battle was 🤌🏼

Great start to the series!
Revisado: 03-05-25
Absolutely loved listening to this! It kept me engaged the whole time, and there was great chemistry between Lara and Aren. The concept for the bridge was really interesting, and just when I thought I knew what was going to happen, another twist would be thrown in!
I also really identify with Lara’s struggles of coming to terms with all the influence and lies we can be raised with, and having to work through what your truth is moving forward.
I can’t wait to see how things come together in book two!

Revisado: 02-23-25
I’m a sucker for Catherine’s books! Loved getting to know Cope better and his struggles. He was so sweet with both Sutton and Luca, the way he cared for them had me like 🫠😍
Sutton is so badass. After everything she’s been through with her shitty ex, she went after her dream of owning a bakery while making sure her son always knew he was loved and supported.
Cope and Sutton had great chemistry, and their little family with Luca made it all the better!
You know I loved the Lolli appearances too 👀💖

Absolutely adore this story and these characters!
Revisado: 02-23-25
If you like a winter romcom, then please read this book! It’s filled with Christina’s signature humor that had me cackling the entire time. It’s reverse age gap—Myra meets hottie ski patroller Linc on her self discovery trip to Bozeman after signing divorce papers.
Myra was vibrant and full of life until her dud of an ex husband made her feel small until she no longer recognized herself.
Linc may be younger, but he’s an old soul at heart. He cooks, cleans, and communicates directly—is there anything sexier??
Frankie is the brother I wish I had, and Otto is the goodest dog ever.
I absolutely adore this story and these characters!!!

This was my first BK Borison book, and I absolutely loved it!!! It was hilarious and heartwarming—the spice was incredible too!
I thought Aidan and Lucie had great chemistry, and the tension was just perfect. I loved that Maya was the catalyst of the entire dating experience. I loved that Lucie was a badass female mechanic. But I think my most favorite part was their sweet, blended family. There was so much love, and you could truly feel it!
