Ear splitting narration

The story was great, but the narrator's male southern accent was terrible. Whenever "Daddy" was talking the volume and pitch went much higher than the rest of the narration leading to an unpleasant experience.

I had a really hard time with this book only because of the voice not the content. Authors, especially Psychiatrists, have got to stick with what they are good at and leave narration to the professionals. I'll try again but in kindle format.

Not as good as the orginial

I love everything Molly Harper, but "Witch's Handbook" was just not as perfect as her other books. For first time readers, you must read the" Nice Girl's" and the "Werewolf" series or you will be confused by the characters in this one. Don't worry, they are worth the read! Amanda Ronconi is the only narrator who can read Molly's books, she is perfect! But her Boston/Irish accent was terrible and Nola's voice was too similar to Jane's. Several times I thought there was a Jane dialogue, when in fact it was Nola. They should have had another narrator play Nola parts while Amanda played her usual amazing characters.
The story was classic, witty, sarcastic Molly material. I can never get tired of it. But Jeb's identity was a bit too much of a stretch for me, and there needed to be a little more Jane secondary story line weaved in.
For those Molly Maniacs out there, you'll like it. For those who are new to Molly, read her earlier work first to really enjoy this one.

Scent of Magic

This is the second book of a trilogy. The story picks up pace in this book as you are kept guessing as to who is good or evil. The conflict of who will rule the land from the fist book, becomes even more tangled with addition of more contenders. The main character continues her struggle to preserve life and goodness during a time when people find it easier to stray to unsavory ways. The plot is exciting and unpredictable. Hard to put this one down.

Touch of Power

This is the first in a really great trilogy. The narrator did a great job, and the story kept a really good pace. The plot is about a struggle between powerful people (and former schoolmates) for leadership and rule of a land. The main character, who has been personally effected by decisions made by those powerful people, has the difficult task of understanding why good people do bad things as she tries to "pick sides". The twists and turns make it hard to put down. There is nothing predictable about this story line.

Traveling Pants at 30

It was good to catch up with the girls of the traveling pants now approaching their 30th birthday. I could not put the book down, but it is a real tear jerk-er. From beginning to end, there was sadness but with a heart warming undertone. Not the type of story I enjoy reading, but for these girls, I did.
